I think the animation is putting people off. Which is a pity because this show is legit the closest in spirit to the first iconic movie.
Was really getting into it then just realised I just finished the last episode. 8 episodes isn't enough

Although it is primarily aimed at the young, anybody who has ever enjoyed the Jurassic movies will enjoy this. The animation is great ans it does have you sitting on the edge of the seat at times, not to mention wanting to strangle the kids at times lol
A top notch traverse to the animated world and fun for all ages.

I binged this series TWICE in two days and feel in love with all the Easter eggs. Went above and beyond my expectation!

When I first saw it I was hesitant to watch because I assumed it would be almost like the Lego versions and not tie in with the story and lore, but I was pleasantly surprised to see how many references and plot points are correct! I love the story and how it ties in with the movies.
I’m glad to be seeing reviews for the series before release, it shows some good confidence in the series. I‘m certainly interested to see how well additional spoiler heavy storylines are portrayed but I will have to moderate my expectations a little. I am also curious about the series’ score and how it fares compared to the soundtracks of the films.

It uses some sountracks from the films which is pretty cool
You mentioned that the first half does a better job than the second half, I personally think it’s the other way around, I found myself bored and cringing a lot during the first few episodes but the rest I was glued to the screen and was completely invested, the monorail episode is hands down my favorite cause it actually talks about real story telling stereotypes and flaws which I really enjoy
Agreed. I think the show started getting better when we meet the birthday scientist.

Not great, not even good. Making a series with kids as the main characters in JP/JW was an obvious bad idea, why? Well because unless you haven't been paying attention kids never die in JP/JW. So yeah, zero tension for anyone with a brain.
As a kids show is not bad at all, but for anyone with decent writing expectations this is bad.
I'm super glad grown adults are watching and enjoying it as much as I am as a 24 year old lol
Why is absolutely no one talkint about poor Toro in the ending?
My man was literally AGONIZING after being blown up. Like sure Toro tried killing the kids but poor dude. Can I report animal abuse??? smh atleast comfort the poor guy while he’s agonizing

I'm so happy the carno was the main dinosaur they finally did it justice in screen time
Super super excited, my son got the t-rex egg and book toys in his McDonald's happy meal and he's obsessed with dinosaur series like Land Before Time and of course documentaries that I watch. I dared not to put on Jurassic Park or Jurassic World but this is gonna be a heck of a watch for the both of us. I can only hope they really go far with it and the storylines presented.

Dilophosaurus no-showing again is probably gonna be a deal breaker for me for this show, and I've heard from early viewers that there is once again no Dilo appearance. Can I please have my favorite JP Dinosaur back in something lol?

And on that note, it's odd seeing how Apatosaurus and Triceratops are absent considering they're quite prominent in the film. Guess they want to focus more on Fallen Kingdom dinosaurs

The trailers don’t do justice to this show. It’s freaking amazing. After Jurassic park 2, this is the only Dino entry from the series I’ve actually liked

The one problem I have with the trailer is when the Carno is charging at the child inside the cage. Carno could not fit it’s head in there’s now if they used suchomimus ya then he would be in danger.
I mean staying in age with a large carnivore trying to get you without another way to escape running sound like a better option

it may not be able to bite the kid but I feel like it could easily crush that cage by ramming into it not killing him but ignoring him and maybe breaking a few bones that dino looks heavy to me, but then again what do I know it's just a guess and your guess is probably right and the kid is okay

This show was a very welcome surprise after how terrible Fallen Kingdom was, can't believe I'm actually more excited for a kids show than I am for any new movies.
I have just watched the series today and I have to say I am impressed with it but I was almost disappointed with it from the first episode as at one point Toxic Masculinity was mentioned and I instantly paused it and saying to myself “Oh fuck they included that political crap into it!” Fortunately it was only mentioned once and I began to assume that it was put in as a joke but knowing how the media is like, especially forcing politics onto kids. I became sceptical as the series continued as there were a few things here and there that made me pause and wonder what the hell is going on but the series did contain much of what the films had, dinosaurs giving awe and terror when witnessing the Indominus Rex eating people (It was done off-screen since this is directed at children). I’d personally give it six and a half out of ten.

I'm older than the age group Netflix made this series for and let me just say, Some of the scenes even had me a bit shaken! the one at the beginning of the last episode specifically... I recommend this to EVERYONE who likes dinos. It actually shocked me how great it was! I loved it! currently trying to get my 9y/o brother to watch it but he won't budge :(

I do like that it gives me the ‘clone wars’ vibe except its not as dark, but i love the character dev the kids go through like in Jurassic park 1, and some of the models of the dinosaurs remind me of the ones from the game or movie,. I also like the fact how it connects to the movie. All and all it was not so bad i cant wait to see how season 2 is. Plus unlike the cast of the first Jurassic park these are kids, like timmy and alexis. And i like despite their so young , their attitudes developed over the time during the events Whcih lead them to start becoming friends. Although if rexy was in it, they wouldve flipped.

I loved all the Jurassic movies but this one makes me surprised and excited because we never got to see an indominus Rex in broad daylight it was always dark when we saw it in the movie also baby ankh is the best character, listen to its squeaks
What are you talking about we see the Indomidus quite a bit in broad daylight.
So they play it super safe and recycle stuff we've already seen. What a surprise. Also, am I the only one who finds it really jarring that these animated, stylised Frozen-style characters are meant exist in the same timeline as the live action films?

@@darthkillerhog did u forget, theres a figure set with the cerato, with blue n charlie called the "ceratosaurus clash set", so maybe this will be in S2, same goes for grim, limbo and chaos.

Problem with making all the central characters kids is that they all automatically have plot armour. Not dark enough.
The armor in this instance is weak enough to allow bruising, broken bones, and very solid near deaths. Much more than I can say than the kids in the new movies.

@@1iyah_8 I mean, FK is already toned down, and it kinda feels like a cartoon. Has a comic-book vibe to it. So its like, they already made a cartoon with FK. I want them to make a classic JP. I want them to go back to the roots. Idk, Colin already said that he's planning to make dominion the most one out of the bunch to resemble the OG franchise.. So we'll have to wait, and see I guess
I just don't want Camp Cretaceous to be Canon. Because that is absolutely ridiculous
@@1iyah_8 Another thing is, and I know this subject got stale. But, I really don't like the Dino designs from the Jurassic Worlds, especially the Tyrannosaurus. They gave it tiny smooth teeth, and a soft tongue, not to mention the skull shape, and body morphology. It just doesn't look like a JP T-Rex. Another thing is, which people differ on a lot are the Dino's CG, and animations. I'm sorry, but the original franchise did it better. Battle at Big Rock showed a huge improvement in that department, so lets hope for the best
And the characters, plot, and acting is a whole lengthy subject in itself. Lets hope dominion improves on that as you said.
And last but least, the score. Didn't like both of JW, and FK scores. I think Michael Giacchino did a terrible job.
It seems like its impossible for me to like whatever they're gonna produce in the future lol. Idk, Dominion might be the one that actually feels like a JP

Another quote by Ian Malcolm, “they were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn't stop to think if they should.” This is how I feel about the whole Jurassic World franchise. It’s just not that good and this kids show just doesn’t do it for me.

I will see that focusing on characters can be a good thing because it can make you feel or care for them more. Or even make them likeable (assuming the character isn't before)

Only real problem I have with the series is it's a bit too short so some of the emotional moments don't feel earned and there's not enough blood and a bit of terror like in the movies. Also bumpy surviving his fall was complete bullshit.
Um... did you expect to find lots of blood and terror in a show targeted for kids? That's gonna traumatize them for life. And I'm glad bumpy made it, I like bumpy. But each to his own opinion.
@@lifewiththatonepreppy in regards to the kids stuff and blood I'm not talking about like massive amounts of blood I'm more of talking about like showing scratches maybe a small line of blood going down someone's arm like make it a bit more realistic. Kids today are getting way too babied compared to the 1990's and early 2000's. Hell the first ever animated kids movie was much more adult themed than a lot of kid shows in recent days.

am I the only one who find the characters too annoying? the camp counsellors leaving the kids alone in a dangerous place again & again is way too unrealistic and seems like it's just to keep the plot going.

First off all should have died or broken bones from the jump off the train. Ben would be paralyzed. Just saying.
