@@codingram8127 How do I get a static IP? I need to share the ftp server on my discord so I can start a sort of "ARG" for my new game like PROJECT: PLAYTIME.
Aborts connection immediately. Configuration and all of the other settings are greyed out. Basically im completely stuck. (Via the filezila client, *configuration wizard test, i also get 'connection closed' bcus of an ip adress mismatch. If in the test i manually set the ip address then connection is fine. So basically i have to change my ip adress for it to work?.... Or does this have to do smtn with the ports? Oh and firewall is off but just in case i allowed all of the filezila programs that i could)
it works on my local network but not out side. i have open port 21 and port forwarded it to the machine running Filezilla i can see it connecting but then fails
Hi there. Thanks for your well-explained and great tutorial... However, I am facing an issue. When I type "ftp://______" and my IP address as found in cmd into my file explorer, it puts me to an internet explorer page, not the folder itself. What to do? Please reply asap, I'd much appreciate this. Thanks.
Go to the Control Panel, select Internet Options, go to the Advanced tab, and then ensure that you DO check the option labeled Enabled FTP folder view (outside of Internet Explorer), and then click Apply to save the setting change.
I have an issue.... I did all the steps correctly but when i go onto the file explorer -> type in the ftp://(ip address) then it brings me into the log in screen. When i type in the correct user and password it loops back to the login screen saying "Could not login to the FTP server with the user name and password specified. I even checked the File Zilla information to make sure I inputted the information correctly. I am just lost.
Thats the wrong question, you computer is the server, What you wanna ask is do you need a static ip for you server. Sadly yes and its costs some money. Just use google drive.
@@codingram8127 Thanks for the reply. That's basically what I was trying to do. Too bad, was still fun to learn to set up and now I can easily transfer between various computers around the house.
thank you for the tutorial, I would need for my infrastructure that my users have access to the ftp storage space automatically via network location, how can I do? because for the ftp in gpo I did not succeed ...
Thats exactly what should happen. The server runs in the background only. You interact with the server through the management console

I cannot connect FTP server while Windows Firewall is running . I have already defined inbound-outbound ports (21) but I still have the same problem can you help ?
Actually this would be true and it does work, but for most of the ISP they use NAT and Proxy at ISP level which basically means the public IP doesn't directly point to the router
Thank you for being direct and to the point unlike others very nice video my friend 👍🏿
thank you, I found many other guides but they seems to be the old version.
Your version meets the latest 🎉🎉
Your are the best explainer for this topic, thanks 💝
the ftp folder is still empty and can't find the "text" file. is it just an empty text?
Hi, the last step it’s not successful with me , empty in folder 😢
Hey dude, quick question. If I wanted to share the ftp server with others, what IP address would they have to type in?
If they are on your local network the your local ip, search on the net how to get local ip address.
If on the internet then you need a static ip.

The reason I need to get an ftp server is because I want them to get the files by using passwords and stuff for fun
Its a paid service - static ip. Search this on google. Your internet provider + static ip. e.g. - xfinity static ip OR Google Fi static ip.
@@codingram8127 ah..
Guess ima just find an alternative

I can not connect to the ftp server from another computer. The filezilla server first needs to be allowed in the windows firewall for it to work.

Thanks for your help, but how after entering the user password, FTP content open in the new windows explorer ???
Windows 🤔
thank you, this helped me a lot!
Do we need static IP for it? Or dynamic IP from internet provider can work?
You do need a static ip. A dynamic ip could work but its unreliable

how to setup external file transfer over internet pc to pc ?
Nice topic, Could make a video on it someday, but you will need to pay for the static ip though
@@codingram8127 no just set up using current IP then update as needed

For external? Should you use local ip or public ip?
Intranet, or your house = local ip
Internet or the world = public ip
thanks bro.. last time i installed there is GUI. but current version use simple GUI
Can you host a txt file? I'm really struggling
Thank you for your help! 👍✔
Awsome video! Thank YOU!
Hi, how do i get this to work with php files, thank you for the video btw! :)
Works Perfectly, Thank You
You are using the private IP
really helpful and working
Thank you sooooooooooooooo much !
❤❤ thanks bro
thanks boss!
thank you very much
thanks
This is cool
stinks windows 10 blocks it and corrupts the files
if its the firewall, you have to allow it or else its prob some other issue
simple and useful
Method is simple but its very glitcy , no guarantee that it will work 100%
and its not a reliable solution actually
Too much bugs
thanks
