So glad she was not home during that earthquake...she might have got hurt...the government said structural damages was minimal but Jamaica is big...they have to send Assessment Teams throughout every parishes to see what damage have been done because sometimes large cracks are more severe than they seems...Ms Linda needs immediate help.
Praying for Miss Penny & her neighbours. I pray that the community will band together to house those who have lost their homes or damage to them, and re-build. Come on Jamaica you can do this. Yah bless & keep you all.
Hope the relevant government authority is see this, this is dire emergency for this elderly lady. Councellors and MP this is ur time to shine. Are you seeing these things at all.
Every district in Jamaica should have houses built and ready to be used by anybody who fall into such situation, especially when you have disasters like this . What is the point in talking about disaster preparedness when there is nothing prepared for people who are in dire help like in this situation . . Even if they are temporary converted containers that can be fully secured and ready to be used at anytime, which works out cheaper that building a concrete structure . All the containers need is minimal furnishing, and a water tank, a small kitchen and toilet, and a shower area .
I was going to say, how can we really prepare for an earthquake. But your idea is a fantastic one; the container idea! I know the government cannot do everything but having emergency shelter, using hardy designed CONTAINER structures, is a BRILLIANT thought and SOLUTION - especially if they are established in close proximity to our most vulnerable and poorest of the population. Too many substandard and old housing are still being lived in. Really feel for us.😞
This is such a sad situation....This is the reason i admire African Culture, because everyone run to help each other. Jamaica deals with these things like Europe, but they dont have the financial set up and structure like them....There is a need for better planning to help people immediately and then interview them after. 88 years old, shame on the Jamaican Government and community leaders for situations like this to continue.
Thank God for sparing life he moves in mysterious ways She was at the clinic God save the others too i wish i had it to help but God will send help he never save to leave ...and to see her smiling wow
I hope the niece will come and take her to stay with her, even temporarily. Church people in the area, love your neighbor as yourself! I know many of us are struggling, but some of you can find a place in your COMFORTABLE dwelling for her to stay until her situation can be remedied! Have a heart, for God's sake! Don't let her spend one more second there. If you have helped already then please ignore this message, and may the good Lord bless you GREATLY.🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️❤️❤️
Many houses like that was built before the law came in about using steel in the foundations . Plus you can see parts where steel was added, when they created an extension to the house, but the rest have the old type concrete build without the steel .
Jamaica, though "earthquake prone" as you put it - has not had to contend with them for the majority of time, so this event will hopefully shine a light on that - Not that one can be comfortably safe from earthquakes. Many of these houses are squatter-built, or homes from way back in the day. It's a complex fix, unfortunately. They are countless.😟
Wow ! Happy she’s alive. The government needs to come & help her NOW! Please report this to them. Can we start a Go Fund Me????? Hellooooo we need to spring into action!
I try not to be too critical because, sadly, many people live in squalor/and or squat on lands because they cannot afford better. No one who could would do that in an ideal situation. Sometimes a tent over their heads, so they aren't exposed to the elements, is all many have. Let's sacrifice and try to help make at least one person's life less vulnerable. The government can't do everything. We have a part to play too.
You can ask if there's any fear reporter, freaking must for anyone in Jamaica right now. I don't hear you mention to the representative for that area on any side of the political area to this catastrophe. Thanks for the highlight.
May God bless her. Her niece or a neighbor needs to give her somewhere to lay down. She can't continue sitting up with her legs crossed like that any longer. She could get a blood clot.
Where is all the stars like beine man, jah cure an whoever else support these star s they got lots of money they can assist in situations like this. Help yuh dam country they support all yuh shows an buy out tickets .
Send the message to the prime Minister. He'll take care of the tab to rebuild for those people. He said the damage was minor so that should be no big deal to pay for and give them nice new homes. Tell them not to worry Mr Holness to the rescue.
She need the help ! What happen to the community? Some of these people never prepare for old age ! Please help each other. ! This is a warning Jamaica a bigger one coming. Repent.
Where is the Govt. of the Island. They need to do their assessment in All the Parishes to help the people to pick up the pieces. It's fresh now 😢😮 but some of the questions don't make any sense. God is good he is the one and Only Who Can Shaked and Shaped Jamaicans into 😨 fear. Even in this time of desperation you can listened to the language that these uttered from their mouth 👄 No respect 😮😮 People will be distraught, shaken and surprised, but the Bible tells us of the last days we will have Earthquakes in Diverse places. Remember Syria/ Turkey had a deadly one in Feb. 2023 where they lost over 60, 000 human being. So we are not different. It's just when ? People were going about their business. Don't care how well a Structure is put in place when the Almighty ready to move there will be no Reservations Necessary. As a People we sheared the pain and lost and we hope that the Basic things of life will Supplied to our needs. Blessings to All .🙏🙏💕💕🌍🌍🇯🇲🇯🇲🇱🇷 . Peace out 🙏

The house was not reinforced with steel. How does someone living in erathquake prone Jamaica build with concrete and wood? Craziness!
Many houses like that was built before the law came in about using steel in the foundations . Plus you can see parts where steel was added, when they created an extension to the house, but the rest have the old type concrete build without the steel .
What bothers me, I'd that the community would allow her to sleep there .What a shame
@@jenniferchance5636Exactly
@@jenniferchance5636no heart! Sigh
