    Wow nice video one of the best i seen thanks mate, also no excuses when i saw the 70 HP behind the boat, here in Miami every fisherman wants a 350 HP pushing the boat and then they go fishing once a year lmao.

      But when they do go fishing, they are drunk, reckless and a danger everyone else on the water with their 350 motor. Floridians cant drive a car to save their life imagine them driving a boat. Even the fucking kraken steers clear from them.

    Replacement arrived!By the way, I did forget to mention that the original lure did have a decent strike however as most anglers will attest you can get a hit th-cam.com/users/postUgkxCbNOWAGmn6nfbCbJDmasvBq7J38KZNw2 and fish will hang on and release lure. I used the replacement lure yesterday and ran thru a Shimano Waxwing, Kastmaster, Bobber (set to sink). I found the does run deep (I casting on the flats 3.5'). Make sure you adjust your rate of retrieve and rod tip angle (up) to prevent getting snagged on bottom. Used it a couple of times and action was very lifelike (looked like local bait fish for trevally), craftsmanship very good....however eyeball fell out. I asked for replacement and it is on it's way! It was very easy to change out treble to single inline hook.

    just a few questions blinking in mind...
    one, how come the fish remain intact with the hooks despite immense pressure of water, which we feel on tackle while trolling. two, what is the depth it would go and what the depth should be for mack. last, can we control the depth, if yes then how???

  • @Jbay2608

    Interesting to see you guys using singles in a line like that, we usually just put trebles on wire trace wire, made to the length of the bait.

    hey I used that type of rod (rated at 140 lbs) in Hawaii catching a very similar fish ...Ono, which translates to Wahoo...The line (Monofilament) used for trolling just like shown here, would become dull after a very short time, I did not dare use braided line for fear it would cut into the interior surface of the pole. And then the inevitable happened: a good size Ono on the line, a huge wave raised up the boat and I had just tightened the drag a bit...Bang broke the pole right at the orifice by the reel. I hope Peter has better experience with this type of pole! Enjoy!

    • @konasteph
      @konasteph 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did not mention I saw that in-line pole at the very beginning of your clip, it caught that Mackerel while you were explaining how to rig the bait.....

    • @sf1770
      @sf1770 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      These are Daiwa Interline 7 foot, 701 MF. They had a great fast action and an excellent butt set up. I run 65 lb Whiplash braid, which is over kill, as I rarely use more than about 10 lb of drag, and often less The big advantage of the interline style rod is that line cannot be wrapped around the tip and tip guides, which can happen with fast head shakes and braid. I used to break a few of them, high sticking, but would put up with it because of all the other benefits. Sadly, I can't get them anymore.

    Dave

    • @sf1770
      @sf1770 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We usually run three baits. The furthest back is usually about 70- 80 metres; the other side about 40-50 and a close one down the middle in the prop wash10 -12 metres. On quiet days you will usually get bites on the closest and the furthest.

    Wonderful Video. atleast clear one point that we don't need to hide the hook. here in my country boat captains put only one hook. here multi hooks are used. Fish strikes with great speed. What is the speed of boat 4 knot ?. we use to fish on anchor boat.

    • @athera.kashif898
      @athera.kashif898 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kamran this is for trolling not we use drift dead bait at anchored boat. You can see that when bait is lowered none of any fish stroked on the bait as hooks are visible so hiding hook is essential when boat is anchored. We mostly troll where water is 15-20 fathom deep, whereas in this video its not that deep. I have tried couple of times the dead bait trolling, 100% success, rigged scad mackerel with single started from mount and ended in belly. Am sure after the rigging, boat speed must not be over 3 knots. Peter can confirm about boat speed

      Well its actually a narrow barred, but basically a king. I don't think they understand that a Spanish is a real species that I catch often with sabiki rigs off the North Carolina coast. They are usually about 14-18 inches. So that's where Im trying to understand why they insist on calling them Spanish mackerel. Spanish have yellow dots all over them.

    • @jc136982
      @jc136982 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Spanish is a common name so is narrow barred in australia for Scomberomorus commerson. Scomberomorus cavalla is the king mackeral (common name) and Scomberomorus brasiliensis has the common name Serra Spanish Mackerel. Simple minds should use Scientific names common names take tact.
