Always wear gloves and a mask when handling cement. The dust can really harm your lungs and irritate your skin.If you want to save money, a mix of 1 part portland cement to 4 to 6 parts sand or ballast( sand and gravel)
I loved it. Wanting to mess my gloves in cement for a long time. This video actually gives me the courage to try . Plz tell me in what ratio should I use the material for mushrooms as ready mixes are not available here. Thank you once again.
I use 2 cups of the portland grade 1-2 cement, and 1 cup of sifted construction sand, this makes a very small top of a mushroom , so if you would like a large one, you can add about 5 cups and 2 1/2 cups of sand this is just for the top as well, so for every two cups is 1 cup of sand
as a leaner I felt much better explanation is needed..do we coat the bowl so it will wash well afterwards? to paint them do we use a Primer (I think?)..etc..not bad
It can Look beautiful but plants will die from the lye or whatever is in it. I bought for the store. Killed a few plants. Have to put plastic between roots & cement.
Porland cement, and Vegetable oil SPRAY makes it less greasy, but does the job. Also, on the base, you can just pour your cement leaving "spill room", and then push your cup in until the cement rises to the top and fill with pebbles or rocks until it reaches the depth you like (its cleaner). After the cement is cured, you can use spray paint primer or Gesso, and even mix the cement with latex paint, to give it color then seal it.
Seaglass Barbara I've been trying to make candle holders with cement AND concrete, but they fall apart. idk why i cant get the structures to be strong.
This guy doesn't even know the difference between cement and concrete. Cement is a powder, concrete (cement, sand, aggregates, and water) is what he's using.
Does he not know the difference between cement (like portland) vs concrete mix? Two totally different items cement vs concrete. “A cement is a binder, a substance used for construction that sets, hardens, and adheres to other materials to bind them together. Cement is seldom used on its own, but rather to bind sand and gravel (aggregate) together. Cement mixed with fine aggregate produces mortar for masonry, or with sand and gravel, produces concrete. Cements used in construction are usually inorganic, often lime or calcium silicate based, and can be characterized as either hydraulic or non-hydraulic, depending on the ability of the cement to set in the presence of water (see hydraulic and non-hydraulic lime plaster). Non-hydraulic cement does not set in wet conditions or under water. Rather, it sets as it dries and reacts with carbon dioxide in the air. It is resistant to attack by chemicals after setting. Hydraulic cements (e.g., Portland cement) set and become adhesive due to a chemical reaction between the dry ingredients and water. The chemical reaction results in mineral hydrates that are not very water-soluble and so are quite durable in water and safe from chemical attack. This allows setting in wet conditions or under water and further protects the hardened material from chemical attack. The chemical process for hydraulic cement found by ancient Romans used volcanic ash (pozzolana) with added lime (calcium oxide).“
I wish I had seen this when my daughter was little we could have filled our back garden with mushrooms 🍄 xx

they need time to heat up and cure -- cover them in loose plastic and set them in a warm place for 24 hours
Redeemed Believer thank you so much!
Seaglass Barbara i
wow!!!! thanks for the tip sea-ass
@4:10_ "six million ways to die choose one"
If you made them in dry-cast, you would not get all the air bubbles.
I did wonder what Matt Hancock was upto nowadays
