Slash has nothing on this man and his hats. Leon was such an incredible underrated player and extremely humble. I don't believe he ever realized how good he was. He was always grateful for the fans. RIP sweet man.
God Bless You Leon Russell Wilkeson for being such a wonderful religous man, being so sweet. I wish I could have been born in 1954 so I could have made sure he would have the right person in his life to keep him Alive. If he had the right person in his life back then, maybe his drinking & cigarette smoking wouldn’t have taken him home so soon. His playing was sooo smooth and underrrrattted that like David Gilmour, Leon Wilkeson will be considered the best Bass Guitarist in the World. We are lucky these days to have live copies of Skynyrd playing,Leon was a fantastic Bass player and sang harmony to Ronnie's lead vocals. You can see him into each song on the concert footages and I can't say enough about his abilities. Thank you Leon Wilkerson, thank you Gary from Tennessee ✌️🤘🎸🎶

I grew up Dow the road from him. His kids & I would watch them rehearse. I only wish I understood at that time. What a special experience that was but I’m glad I have that memory.
I love Leon like a father when I was very young growing up in Warner Robins Georgia back and forth from Jacksonville my mom was Leon and Sherry's living babysitter her name is Lori I'm her son I was practically little brother and it was the best times that I can remember of my childhood I remember Leon calling me and Lee all the time almost every night to tell us good night and he would make all of these impressions of voices like Mickey Mouse and Goofy and cat noises and all kinds of stuff we just thought it was the most hilarious thing in the world and it was so cool that he could do it like you did it I didn't know he was famous I probably wouldn't have cared anyways I never looked at him like that neither did my mom or any of us we looked at him as Leon and between me Leon Brooke and Van those were my three Role Models growing up when I was young I love and miss you rest in peace Leon and Brooke you would never be forgotten and I'll see you soon one day much love you're god son Christian ...p.s btw u would be so proud with us exp leelee he has accomplished and became such a great son of yours r.i.p popsss. - Christian Lee Miller
