Can't believe i just found this channel. You're a really great resource for GWNP! Just moved back to the East Coast and your videos are really helpful for scouting out sites. Awesome videos and keep up the great work!
Nice video and thanks for posting. We are pushing north and working our way into exploring the VA wilderness so this is helpful. Lovely campsite and I appreciate that you showed setting up camp. Glad to see a fellow tent camper when the RTT is all the rage now. Hope to see you out there on the trail.
Thank you!! I would like to try a RTT one day, but I think I'll prefer a ground tent. I enjoy the space and freedom to put the tent wherever I want. Enjoy the outdoors!!!
Hi, great stuff. I enjoy the GWNF too as often as I can! Where's the campspot with the view? My brother from Denver is coming in for some camping. I live in Lynchburg if anyone wants to caravan some trails this Fall, lmk. I liked the video, am watching others now =)
I tow a 26 foot travel trailer into that forest. Although the roads typically get potholes in them, with the occasional wash outs and washboard, it isn't necessary to air down for traction on those roads. As the content creator stated, he did it for comfort. Surprised though he felt the need to do that in a Lexus. I have found that slowing down in my 1 ton truck makes the ride on those roads a lot smoother. Good quality video and good editing job.
You are right. Airing down there is unnecessary, but sometimes you never know what you'll hit. I have eventually found some turn-off roads that are pretty rocky. But I wouldn't take a 26' trailer there lol. Thanks for watching!! I may need to get some camping tips from you.
Going up this weekend since the weather was meh this memorial weekend, in addition to the fact it was also packed too lol last time I went I forgot airdown , lucky all went well but have to not be forgetful at times
This place was at Alhambra Rd. Which was actually gravelled up pretty nice. But airing down made the ride way smoother. I'm always scared and don't want to take any chances. Definitely get an air compressor to air back up too
Great video, I plan on spending some time at GW & Jefferson this spring fly fishing and camping off my motorcycle ...thanks for sharing, look forward to checking out your channel for some more info!
Been there many times in a regular pickup ' that's a regular dirt road not a bad place to camp ' fishing is OK 'there better is a better off road trail he passed on the way into that spot but you better bring a buddy it can be ruff.
I come in from the opposite direction so I pass all those sites first. But, I have recently found some of those trails you are talking about. So I am excited to get back there to explore those other trails out some more.
Well dude I love the GWNF and if ya ever want to get out in the Staunton area of Va let me know always down for a trip and meeting new folks and sharing what I have learned lol
@@AccidentalOverlander I'm not on IG. Snap TH-cam and FB Messenger only. Don't even have FB just use the Messenger 😆 it's all good I appreciate the reply I might can find it with that description.

Hey, I just found your channel. I’m always looking for places explore in Virginia. Where does this road start?
It's called Alhambra Rd by the South Fork Piney River. Easy driving and not a super long road.
@@AccidentalOverlander thanks! Can’t wait to check it out.
Hey buddy do you have the coordinates for this location? I'm headed out that way this weekend and looking for a camping spot. Thanks!
Yeah. Can you message me on IG?
Will do!
