I have a full time job so there's a limited amount of time I can spend on game dev unfortunately.
Awesome game, new subscriber to your channel, love'n the roguelikes... i followed your link, and bought the game, downloaded the zip. extraxted it, but it wont run, just a splash screen about how I dont have permissions but it's ran in admin mode, also, the .exe, gets re-compressed after each attempt..... V__V was really looking forward to playing it too,,, sent 2 bug reports, just wondering how you got around this THANKS FOR THE RECOMMEND just wished it worked lol
I just bought the game as a result of this video. I love games like this, where you can play for short bursts of a really fun time, easily pick up and put down. And for $1?! It's easily worth more. Seeing how Vampire Survivor blew up on Steam, I can see this doing the same.
Bought Vampire Survivor, too. Zero regrets! Love little games like this. No real complication. Jump in, kill some stuff, die, and walk away when necessary. 👍🏻

Yes the rappers name is "Lil Uzi Vert" and yes it was stolen almost immediately after it was implanted while he was crowd surfing at one of his concerts.
I love it when a simple and satisfying concept is just well executed like that. Lots of immediate fun with great replayability thanks to all the combos you can think of. Another great find, thanks Splatt'
Lil Uzi Vert had a $24M(!!!) pink diamond implanted in his forehead, and he says it was ripped out by fans at a concert, a couple years ago. So, yeah, exactly that. 😑 This looks like a solid little title. 👍🏻 Great for shorter bursts and days during which you're feeling tired and/or stupid, and can't deal with too much complexity.
Looking at the math, you can't just take Sumo and disregard Power. It's an 8% copy effect. Looking at the drops, you get 20 Health or 6 Power. 8% of 20 comes out to 1.6 Power. You'd need 5 Health drops to (roughly) equate to 1 Power drop. The effect is by no means bad, free stuff is free stuff. But at that ratio you can't ignore Power.
Think its funny splat remembered the rapper who put the gem in his face, immediately stated the main drawback to doing so, and didn't hear that someone actually did rip the gem out.
that rapper ur referring to actually did a dolphin dive into his fan audience and several fans tried to rip the gem out of his forehead and were able to but were caught and the gem was returned and it taught the rapper real quick to not do that.
I was JUST about to ask if you had played Vampire Survivors! Funny about garlic and those fireballs. This game reminds me so much of VS or the other way round. Looks very fun, I can't wait to cover it on my channel!! Thanks, SplatterCat!
I like these 1-3 dollar arcade roguelites that have been popping up lately. Just as I caught up with Vampire Survivor Achievements, i get another game right up that alley. So yeah, gamedevs take notice: I am ACTUALLY BUYING your game if you respect my poor ass wallet! if 100.000 people buy your game, well you have 100.000 dollars, that is as much as a lot of US people make in TEN YEARS .
I don't think it's viable for every game dev to release their game at 1-3 dollar price tag. Even if a lot of people buy it. Though it is an interesting concept to put out a bunch of smaller games and improve the one that does the best, instead of going for one "perfect" game.
@@SilverionX Of course this is true. You can only make a game 3 Dollars if you don't really need a budget for your game. Of course 1-3 dollars is a the absolute left side of the spectrum. 5-25 dollars is more than reasonable for indie games, depending on how ambitious they are; everything above that and you start paying for more than just the game: you pay for next gen gfx, you pay employees, their marketing campaigns, you pay their engine license, sometimes you pay for the goddamn hollywood actors that ultimately push the price point to 60$ or more. All this overbloated budget forces the game to put less focus on game design and more on making money with post-release monetization and everything else that is wrong with the industry. Neophyte and Vampire Survivors in turn are 1 and 3 dollars, you 100% get what you pay for, youre not paying the production of the game, youre paying the game.
This looks like a bunch of fun, and it's hard to ignore the price. $old! Thanks for sharing this and all the videos you do Splatty. I actually L0L'd at the Egret joke and follow-up. =D

Can you do a series of games that are also on even exclusively on mobile? I travel as my job and can't play most of the games you feature as I don't have a reliable computer
I bought this after the video as well. Even paid $5 instead of $1 for it and had a blast. I must say though, can people recommend me similar games other than Vampire Survivor?
One thing I would add is a small perminant perk for beating the game... unless it already exists, in which case I would add a visible permenant perk for beating the game... Nothing huge, maybe slightly boosted stat, or something. Actually, a pet might make it interesting. Just have an immortal fae or something loosely circling you, and firing something at the enemies. The fae's stats never boost, and their power never gets stronger, until you've beaten the game. It could be as simple as shooting in one extra direction every win, or just a regen power if you get close. Of course, you could just plan it the same as the main character, but rather than a new boost and spell every level, gain it every win.
Be careful, you can't change the controls of the game and if you are using an AZERTY keyboard you wont be able to play since even a controller doesnt work. The game seems good but I can't play it even if I bought it...
You know what, playing these kinds of games on a PC totally sucks. It's like playing space invaders or terra cresta or ghosts and goblins or midway 1942 or chernobyl or whatever on a PC. If i could have an old school arcade console with a stick and buttons to load these, it'd be awesome. For extra immersion, a slot to drop coins (tokens) and add credits like in the good old days, then a little door opened with a key to access the credit button or the loot box. This is totally like an oldschool arcade game.
Im sure you could buy a USB arcade controller with 2 buttons and a joystick that you could set up to work with this game, so long as you can map the controls

i doubt mobile games really have a place here but many shown on this channel will run on a cheap old laptop

Actually, a pet might make it interesting. Just have an immortal fae or something loosely circling you, and firing something at the enemies. The fae's stats never boost, and their power never gets stronger, until you've beaten the game. Of course, you could just plan it the same as the main character, but rather than a new boost and spell every level, gain it every win.
I'd be ok with a different skin of wizard robes for each level of difficulty beaten, and different tilesets for each difficulty
