Willie Mays is 186. So I don't know how much you value defense but basically a 30 point swing on trout's and Mays WRC+ make me feel like those numbers are too good to pass up. Mantle was fast. He wasn't a bad defender. So I would take Mantle over Mays any day.

    This is insane and totally revolutionary. There is so much to hitting and i hope using this will help my 12 year old. There is so much that a kid has to put into his swing that it can be overwhelming. I hope this works as well as I think it will cuz my little man is struggling and it's in his head.

      Ky J1s there are so many variables to hitting. Try to eliminate as many as possible. And remember, the two most important things to hitting are vision and timing

    • @kyj1s449
      @kyj1s449 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christian Card thanks I tend to agree with you. And that's what I explained to him about his leg kick. Use it if you are comfortable with it or dnt but the reason for using one is purely timing up the baseball. Some hitters pump their bat. So many different approaches but it seems most good hitters finish the same. I told him that he needs to find what is comfortable for him and stick with it. Constantly changing it will give constantly changing results.

    • @chriscard9826
      @chriscard9826 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No matter what you do with your stance, all good hitters bring their hands back while taking their stride, knob of the bat pointing at the catcher, you can see it in Trout's swing

    • @rickhoward1516
      @rickhoward1516 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Dont worry about this at 12. Haha, it will make it worse. Alot of time its the mental side of starting the weight transfer and seeing the ball well and deciding to swing at the right moment with a confident swing. It takes that one hard hit ball to feel it and understand it. Its not just being aggressive, that alone can make it worse, its the aggressive approach of hunting fastball along with confidence that gets kids on the right track. Timing and confidence turns into seeing the ball well. Its at that moment when things seem to slow down and almost seems easy. Dont throw to much at him, just work on confidence and timing. A good weight transfer on every pitch is a big key.

Make that move with you hands right now and see if it isn't the Teacherman move. It totally is. The "real vs feel" principle is why people miss it.. People don't think they are doing that, plus when the full swing is attached it doesn't look like you're doing that. You have to look closely. And that will be dependent on your overall structural anatomy.
    In other words: If you're not built like Mike Trout, and you don't swing like Mike Trout, then your bat angle shoudn"t be like Mike Trout's.

    Good hitters are born.... NOT COACHED TO GREATNESS.
    Great hitters are born.
    Here is my quick arguement.
    Great hitters ALWAYS have to have extrordinary vision to see the ball, see the pitchers grip on the ball, see the spin and rotation of tbe ball and ultimately see and anticipate the delivery of a pitch..... This ability is simply god's gift, PLAIN AND SIMPLE... .Sorry guys.
    To further reinforce this point. After everything mentioned above a hitter has to have a natural fluidity to their swing... No hitting coach in the history of baseball ever altered the natural swing of a big leaguer especially after they have been using those mechanics since little league. ...
    It just does not happen.
    HITTERS ARE BORN
    THEY ARE NEVER MADE...
    The greats and legends are exactly that and that is it. End of story....
    I love baseball....

    There is a big difference between staying inside the ball and having an “inside out swing” the only way to hit a baseball effectively is to stay inside the ball. Every payer that makes it to the major leagues has to stay inside the ball to get hits. Trout does not have an “inside out swing” he does a good job staying inside the ball. When Mike gets pitched middle in he will stay inside and drive it to left and left center. Derick Jeter is an example of someone with an “inside out swing” he regularly took balls middle in and sent them to right field for hits.

    Let me question something do you know where you will go after you die? If not let me say you can have a choice to either go to hell or heaven see 2000 years ago there was this man named Jesus who died on the cross for our sins and rose alive 3 days later all because he truly loved us he died for us so I question you now do you truly believe in Jesus or do you live for the world turn to Jesus Christ trust in him Christ has way much more to give than the world he loves us turn to Christ

      @@PastimeAthletics at the same age Griffey had 398 over 1,100 RBIs and had hit over .300 7 times and had 10 good gloves. Trout is not in the same league and is struggling to stay healthy in his 20s. Life 33 and beyond is not looking good. At the plate Trout is not even in a guy like Frank Thomas’s league at the same age Frank only had 257 hr, but didn’t play his first full year until 23 because he went to Auburn to play football and baseball.
      However, he was more productive in less games, he had already driven in 854 runs at Trouts age in far less AB

      @@PastimeAthletics that’s fine if you want to use the WAR stat to show Trout is better than Griffey. He is clearly a really good player, we can just agree to disagree as to how good he actually is.
      I am not a fan of a lot of the new metrics, WAR or no WAR, Griffey from 19-30 or Trout from 19-30 I am taking Griffey and it isn’t close. Heath is the variable that is still in play.. Griffey was never really healthy after 30 and yet he still had over 600. If you are a trout fan or the Angels, then it’s very concerning that the guy tears his calf jogging from second, but time will tell.
      I am not even a massive Griffey fan, just my opinion
