Sad to see a bunch of people who clearly don't know who Casey is. Not even that he is a former all-star with a career .302 BA, but that he was voted the friendliest guy in the league by his peers in a landslide. Probably because he compliments people and laughs at their jokes, even the ones that aren't that funny. But go ahead and be critical, just don't be surprised when no one likes you. None of us are ever going to hit like Trout, but we can all learn to be as positive as the Mayor.

Funny how he and Donaldson have really different approaches. Mike keeps it very simple and aims top third of the ball.

One of the things Trout does better than anybody is *NOT* hit the top third of the ball. If you look at the leaderboards for balls in play between a 10 and 30 degree launch angle he's always in the top 5 or 10. That's the range wherein many of the hits closer to 10 degrees are going to be 100+ mph rockets into shallow OF and many of the hits at the top of that range are going to be moonshot HRs.
Often when you hear an MLBer speak like that it's just a mental cue he's been using to fix a perceived flaw. Sometimes a hitter might think "swing down" but nobody in the Major Leagues actually does that, it'd look ridiculous.
One of the things that *great pitchers* do is get hitters to hit the top third of the ball.

I think it was a reference to his tee work when setting the tee high. Given that the high fastball is kryptonite to the modern launch angle hitter, aiming to stay on top of that pitch may just be compensation for all the times he swings under that ball

Ya know it is after all…VIDEO. Meaning it’s NOT RADIO. Meaning you don’t have to keep us entertained by nonstop talking cause we can SEE what’s going on. So relax. No rush. If we want to watch your video you don’t need to “ACT” like it’s really exciting. We’re already excited to WATCH IT.
And just a general note about these things. It’s a common mistake to feel the need to fill every second by SAYING SOMETHING. Even if it feels to YOU LIKE there are big open gaps - there aren’t. It to us. Also. Especially when showcasing pro players. Remember WE are already in awe of this guy. Silly but it’s like we have a CRUSH on him which just means that ANYTHING they do is fun. It’s cool to see how the guy stands. What he does with the bat between hits. How he holds himself. Meaning that it’s REALLY OK if everybody is not urgently talking the whole time. Just watching the celeb has our attention. Anyway - just some thoughts for what it’s worth. In fact THE THING that makes me FF a video I really wanted to see is Too much talking.
