Another outstanding video. It's great that you document the disappearing railway past of these lost lines.

Thank you for all of these soulful journeys along this unforgettable *Ghost P-way* - replete with ethereal memories, thoughts and wistful ideas of how many, many people lived and went about their lives before us (including the deepest appreciation of your Great-Grandfather; for, without him ...).
    Stay free, Andy et al.
    All the best. Rab 🍻 😎 🕊

PS. Have you ever used a metal-detector during your historical work? Apologies if you and the ALW team have done, and I have yet to discover the aforementioned within your archives. R 👋

Hello, a metal detector. Not for a long time. I had one in my youth and found many things including an intact dinky toy. It was a twin prop aircraft like a cessna 310 but cannot remember the exact model.

The pieces of wood set in the platform edge probably had brackets supporting signalling cables. If you hack of the plaster in a Victorian house, pieces of wood are built into the brick or block walls usually to fix the door and window frames to.
    Keep them coming Andy.

my parents moved into Branshome in the 70's when it was being built, and used to walk through Sutton on the rail route collecting brambles, the trackbed was still there also the Sutton platforms I remember climbing all over, I also remember the white cross gates on tween dykes road and rails in the road. great family memories.

Another fab & interesting video Andy, it looks very remote there but atmospheric & beautiful in the wintertime. Its amazing what you can find railway related if you look hard enough. Even a brick is interesting! ❤😊

Glad you enjoyed it Carol, the station is rather remote but I can’t help thinking that development would have prospered if the railway had remained.

Last passenger train ran on the track 19th October 1964 but goods traffic continued to use the line as far as Hornsea bridge until 3rd may 1965 because my grandma use to take my dad to Hornsea at weekend she was born in 1901
