I saw something cooler with actual fireworks. Controlled by hundreds of computers. The smoke was the coolest part because it was like a dense layer of fog hit the entire town.
Vanity? I think you are missing the larger picture here. Imagine if each of those drones was carrying a pound of explosives and swarmed a city, carrier group or other target.
One of the MOST AMAZING spectacles I have ever seen!! Would be breathtaking if seen in person! Congratulations to the amazing show put on display. 🇺🇸👍🏼🙏🤯
A more environmentally friendly type of "fireworks" aerial display. Fitting that the Nation of the inventors of fireworks thousands of years ago happens to lead the way here.
I cannot believe this is really happening. How can you control 10 thousand drone simultaneously from one computer and they dont crash into each other. Seriously hard to believe. Congratulations, great achievement
People dont realize but this is showing off a massive military advantage that china has at manufacturing cheap, effective, drone in mass and already has the software fine tuned enough for a singlar computer to control a whole fleet.
No one even cared to think about what you said, even though you are absolutely correct. Goes to show you that the majority are asleep and won't know what hits them when that day comes.
@@mariusg8824 Countries are in a race to advance drone warfare, that's common knowledge. His point is that these displays primary purpose is to show the world what China is capable of, militarily speaking. Most people are too distracted by the pretty displays to even consider this.
Wow. Its so beautiful. I always wondered how a drone show would feel compared to fireworks. They're not comparable experiences. The drone show felt like a movie, too cool.
Very impressive! But in the back of my mind I’m concerned about the military applications for this advanced drone technology. Especially with China’s aspirations to reunify Taiwan with the mainland.
That whole thing is hard to comprehend. How is all that even possible. Technology is getting crazier by the day. On a side note, Congrats to the team, extremely well done!!!
Your computer is doing a heck of a lot more work. Your screen alone needs more computing power than the "one single computer" that they harp on about in this video. The drones are all pre programmed with key frame data. During the show the controller just sends which key frame is next, and all the drones go to thier pre programned locations.
@dougaltolan3017 The pixels of the screen are two-dimensional and do not need to move. The drone needs to move in a three-dimensional space, and it also needs to avoid collisions during the movement.
@chjin1796 dimensions: Red, green, blue, X, Y, Z. Colour depth needs only 8 bits per rgb per pixel (3 bytes) Position could do with significantly more, let's be generous and give each dimension 16 bits (6 bytes) Colour plus location is ONLY 3 times just colour, there are a tiny fraction of drones compared to pixels on a screen, so data, size is of no concern whatsoever. Collision avoidance is managed at the choreography stage, NOT real time. The reprogrammed paths are checked for potential collisions and the show is modified to avoid them.
@chjin1796 A stable image is no more (or less) than GPS stabilised positioning for each drone independent of everything else. These displays implement a local version of GPS which is much higher resolution *and* never drifts. Such local positioning systems have been in operation for decades, on farms, in factories, in automated container ports. You all are imagining horrendously complicated solutions because you don't know of the preexisting systems that are thoroughly tried and tested.
This is going to be a wild statement, but I'm an older American and know what that really means, but this video right here made me wish I was Chinese for the very first time in my life.
