I tried to nest my footage and it still didn’t work with the roto scope and dynamic link. My sequence settings are 23fps and shot all in 60fps.
What’s your project frame rate?
When you are trying to time things up premier pro while you are using after effects, are you constantly going back and forth from PP to AA to match the beat and timing of the sequence?
I do sometimes but I usually cut and section off the part of the clip I want to edit in after effects so it’s already pretty timed up when I import it into AE. You can import sound into AE too so that is an option.
That's really helpful. Im starting to get more into AA and ive always wondered how that workflow works between programs and making it look clean

Sick dope video bro. I have a quick question sometimes when I use after effects rotoscope traces the whole frame and for some reason I can't seem to untrace it and Trace actual artist. This normally happens when I want to trace the next frame... The first frame always traces perfectly but the second one it appears that the whole frame is traced. How do I fix this if by any chance you know or even understood what I said LOL. The video is nested as well...
Thanks for watching Jose and I am happy to try and help you figure this out. Several things could be happening. Your artist and background are the same color so AE is struggling to find those differences and gets confused. Another problem could be in your composition settings. @@VenterVisuals what's up bro. Thank you so much. I got it to finally work it was the color... Since I do my color grade on adjustment layers... And the color grade wouldn't transition to aftereffects. Instead it would appear in slog 2. But I was able to trace the artist out now. Thank you man. Saved me a head ace

Nesting the clip in premiere still does not fix my comp in AE. Even when I bring it in after nesting it has frame issue. Any ideas why?

What setup do u have in terms of RAM and CPU?
So many people ask me for my specs but I honestly don't have amazing specs lol. My RAM is 32GB and my CPU is 2.3GHz 8-core intel core i9

Nicely done with the roto workflow.
As for the music videos, they're not really my cup of tea. I've always thought that the worse a song is, the more FX you'll see. The artist and the song should be the focus. I don't think the videos should look like the a NLE's FX demo reel. But if your clients like that and they're paying, more power to you.
Some of the music videos I edit are much more cinematic than effect based, but you're right. Spamming effects is what's in right now with a lot of artists. If you check out my page you can find the music videos I've actually shot and edited myself, I pride myself on balancing effects and transitions with the actual story of the footage.

everytime i hit lossless with alpha it changes my output to avi...
You need to ensure it renders at a .MOV not an AVI, that should be the codec button above “lossless with alpha” button
