- As the main antagonistic faction in Genshin Impact, most of Fatui's actions are generally bad.
Sometimes miHoYo does introduce a few NPCs to portray the other side of the Fatui, but they are overshadowed by the bad side.

They colluded with Kujou Takayuki to feed false information to the Raiden Shogun.
21:27 - They colluded with the Kanjou Commission to stockpile Crystal Marrow for their Delusion Factory.
22:20 - Signora also colluded with Hiiragi Shinsuke to keep the Traveler stuck on Ritou.
22:59 - They tried to assassinate the Yashiro Commissioner (Ayato) but failed.
23:47 - Nathan is a Fatui agent sent by Pierro to infiltrate the Watatsumi Army to sabotage and prolong the conflict between them and the Shogun's Army.
That caused the Tatarigami to spread throughout the island, causing people to become ill or insane.
24:25 - After producing the Delusions, the Fatui secretly distributed them to the Watatsumi Army.
Soldiers who used them suffered from rapid aging, and some even lost their lives.

32:42 - He also wanted to experiment on Haypasia, so he sent soldiers to kidnap her.

33:58- Dottore collaborated with the Sages to create a new god.
But he also succeeded in putting Nahida in a disadvantaged position and took the opportunity to collect Gnosis.
36:14 - The Harbingers really don't like working together.
36:36 - Fatui's remnants plan to raise an army of fungi to cause chaos in Sumeru.

Not only the harbingers disliking each other, even the regular members constantly disrespect the harbingers (Scaramouche's subordinates, Mikhail's comment about Signora's death). It's honestly a miracle that the group doesn't fall on its own sometimes. They all seem to barely hang on by the "loyalty to Tsaritsa" thread, but Travail trailer says that they people of Snezhnaya have no love left for her. I wonder if many ordinary Snezhnayan hates the Fatui (and by extension, Tsaritsa) as much as the Traveler does.
Honestly the traveler sees them more as an annoyance rather than a thing to hate. They never go out of their way to fight the fatuo unless their causing problems and their willing to help fatui members depending on the circumstances but they never hate them.
From my understanding I’m doubtful that their own people dislike them given how easily childes dad enlisted him because he knew they’d “correct him”
It’s more if a people’s who hate grout job rather than the masses

@@amari7782 Ah yeah, I meant the traveler "hating" them as an institution? Any mentions of Fatui are almost always be seen by them in negative light, and depending on your line choices when conversing with some members of the Fatui, the Traveler can really just go to the extreme end to fight or end some Fatui lives (like Signora, the Fatui spies in Lyudochka's quests, and Anthon and co) instead of listening to them or letting them leave, which implies some degree of initial disdain even if they can be influenced to not do it in some cases. I always think it's very big that the Traveler speaks for themselves that they want to challenge Signora for the sake of everyone the Fatui has wronged.
Depending on your perspective too, it's possible to see the traveler's action to Katarina as purposely leading her to her death instead of telling her to save herself because it's easy to figure out that Nikolay has been killed by Shadowy Husk, but the traveler seems to frame that Nikolay escaped through the rubbles, thus giving Katarina hopes to go after him, as weak and resourceless as she is after being stranded in Chasm for days, leading to her (implied) death (this is of course, may not be the case, as Katarina notes that the Traveler and Paimon seems to care about her like Lyudochka but the Traveler's choice of actions are definitely questionable and Katarina might have her lapse of judgement after being isolated for so long in the Chasm).
They are of course nice to Lyudochka, who in their eyes are redeemable, but that's exactly why they want to give her new life out of Fatui's shadow, because they recognize that life as The Fatui is making her miserable. Childe is a weird situation as they seem to be openly wary of him and warns others about him, but he seems to get the "protection pass" from other people like Teucer or Yoimiya for the Traveler and Paimon to not do anything to him.
Maybe "hate" is extreme, but I don't think it is as light as "annoyance" either 😅 The Traveler definitely have some serious beef towards the institution (or many members of it) based on many of their actions and reactions towards anytime the Fatui just do shady or evil things in their vicinity. They are openly wary, distrusting of them unless the member of the Fatui proves themselves otherwise, in which case, they might lend their hand to help these people.
Anyhoo, I do agree with you saying that the Fatui might having more credibility in Snezhnaya though, based on Ajax's father's decision that you mentioned, and that Pulcinella has been described to be very caring to Ajax's family and receives their positive view. The line from the Travail always intrigues me seeing how most Fatui are very devoted to Tsaritsa, so I often think what does that mean 😅 I suppose only time will tell....

RPG Protagonists: Last we check defeating the gods didn't involve destroying innocents people lives. Quiet the opposite in fact, the power of friendship and bullshit works pretty well.
You could also make a list of nice things the Fatui have done... For example the company of Fatuis that were sent to the Chams to fight off the purple stuff but were left behind

@@salvadorgutierrez8291 yea not all members of the Fatui are innately bad, they are following orders and or raised to act like that but most or some of them just wanted a simple life (e.g. Viktor, Lyudochka (the new Gendou Ringo), the Fatui pair in Sumeru world quest who wants fo fake their death sorry forgot their names, and others I can't exactly recall) and/or protect their loved ones (e.g. Tartaglia)

I wonder if Shneznaya will have a similar problem Inazuma had except more severe, Dain in travail did say that her people have no love left for her so maybe there are a few rebels cropping up.
Maybe there are even fatui who are actually planning to rebel, so far we've run into about three who ran away with the Travelers aid so they can live a new life and the people in the Chasm almost seemed to have been forgotten about. Loyalty can only go so far until people get sick of what they're being put through, especially if their superiors don't even treat them well.
But who knows, maybe they are to loyal to even consider rebellion.

Well,the organization is seen in a bad light even if there good members like those within the Chasm but then you have the guy in the Aranara quest using kids as bait to lure the former out and protect their friends (the children they played with) along with the organizer of the Fungi battle event.
I knew the Wangsheng Funeral Parlor had some shady dealings, but I didn’t realize it extended that far!

One thing that i didn't understand or it was possibly was genshin Story plot hole. Is how tf did the nation that got involved did not send a singgle diplomatic warning to Sneznaya about the fatui movement? Not a war. Just a warning if they didn't solve or investigate it they would cut the economic relationship.
Sneznaya were lucky there is no such thing as "USA" in a land called teyvat. If there was Sneznaya would be in conflict right now.
Raiden/Ei and nahida were FULLY aware about what they want to do with their country and they just go like nothing is going on with their country.

Its because the Fatui is pretty much a military power house in the whole of teyvat
They have the strongest military and largest information network
And they also have northland bank, a highly influential bank with several branches in other nations so they can also control the economy too
I love how much the Fatui skirmishers hate their jobs. You can find a group of skirmishers in the Chasm that are incredibly weak due to being underfed, and there are notes written by skirmishers in many places questioning the weird actions of their superiors and their poor working conditions. My favorite was in Fontaine (spoiler warning) where you encounter a bunch of Fatui skirmishers “investigating a tower” but it turns out they just were there to slack off. Then, you persuade one of them to just quit their job and join one of Fontaine’s research teams.

And with all this evidences some people still keep saying "they are doing this for greater good" or "Celestia is worse". Sure, Celestia destroyed three ancident kingdoms but at this point we know that Celestia is acting only when it's necessary. To be honest we don't even know what Khanri'ah did to deserve that punishmant, mayby they aren't THAT innocent or mayby even Abyss was somehow involved. But let's get back to Fatui. Experimenting on childrens, training them to be soldiers, ploting assassinstions, manipulating whole nations to be in debt to Snezhnaya or stiring up conflicts so the nations can be easier to take over/down and showing clear disrespect toward laws of other nations or even Gods. Oh and I forgot about sheer cruelity toward their own soldiers, clearly Fatui is giving out some evil organization who want to take over the world kind of vibes and absolutly no one can convince me I'm wrong. I wonder if Tsaritsa know about it and is directly involved or they are doing this behind her back. Tartaglia said she's kind person but had to harden herself and Wanderer said she's benevolent God but the longer I keep seeing what Fatui are doing in her name the more I'm convinced it may be some twisted kind of "benevolent".
I wonder if it's some kind of situation with God/people relationship as in Sumeru? is Tsaritsa under some influence by the strongest of Harbingers? since first three of them have godlike powers...
@@sleepingbackbone7581 Yeah that could be the case, especially when it turns out that first Harbinger is tied with Khanri'ah. I mean it may be that he actually dosen't trust Archons just like Dain but he don't have any objections against manipulating and using one of them for his cause if he have kind of power that let him do it. After all anyone who truly is benevolent and kind would never agree to anything that Fatui is doing.
This is why I’m weirded out by the genshin community a lot because they simp over the harbingers so much and cant wait for them to be released just cuz they are hot or cool, some even glorifying or dismissing the things they did. This is why I don’t care about Childe. Like sure he cares about family, especially young kids, but he literally tried to destroy an entire city that has actually has kids with no remorse or second thought. People use their tragic backstory or their assumed “noble” intentions or future character arcs to keep simping for bad people. Unless they are all like Scara who literally undid all his bad actions in the past, I doubt any of them deserve much simping or redemption.
@@missyureiii Yeah, everyone can like whoever they want but honestly Fatui simps should shut up because due to everything that happened to this point even blind person would see that they aren't good in any way. Though I feel little sorry for some soldiers that got dumped here and there to fend for themselfs all on their own while sitting in place with nothing to do sometime. Some of them even want to start new life but are afraid that they will be hunted down as traitors. The sadest thing in all of this is many of Fatui soldiers seems to be orphans with no other choice than joining them because they didn't have anywhere else to go. Seriously, at this point I don't care how "noble" are their goals Fatui are evil and nothing will make me change my mind.

You know what is funny, that we as traveler did some bad REALLY bad thing too. I mean, Chasm quest when we broke the seal Qixin( sorry if it wrote wrong). It's illegal. And we should be punished for gliding in city. And other things. I mean we're not that good too.

If I remember correctly flying in the city was an exam by Amber to get the license because didn't know anything about the rule... and about breaking the seal the quest came from ministry of civil affair by Xu and Yelan was also there during the quest helping us from the back... so I am not finding anything illegal

Except most of these events are in no way connected to their final goal. Sure, the Tsaritsa wants to overthrow Celestia or whatever, but the only thing we know is necessary for her goal is collecting all the gnosis. And they don't need to kill people to collect them, they can just negotiate with the archons or fight them if they're not willing to give away their gnosis. And what about the rest of the bad things they have done? Child experimentation, the Vision Hunt Decree, delusion factory, transforming Scaramouche into a god, just to name a few. Were they all really necessary for their final goal?

I'm pretty sure that Signora lover died during the cataclysm, and if that's the case, Venti, just like the other Archons, were a little "busy" at that time, fighting the creatures of the abyss, Signora lover was a knight, even though he's death is an tragic event, it was his job to defend Mondstad just has Venti and Dvalin were doing at that time.
At the time venti would've been fighting or had fought against durin and either been very busy or forced into slumber due to durins corruption affecting him

Yeah this is exactly why i always kill the fatui if i run into them. Im expecting that by the end all the fatui harbringers as well as their soldiers will have the same fate as Signora, i wont settle for less. Tortilla (Tartaglia) is not free either, him being playable is no excuse and his shitty excuse of "i have a brother i like very much" wont fly here, i couldnt care less about his brother, him being nice to 1 person is not excuse for being part of what is essentially the USSR mixed with Nazi Germany.

I feel more pity towards the Fatui than anything. Yes, I do hate the more evil ones, but some of them are brainwashed orphans who do what they're told to do but don't even know what the goal is. Also, Tartaglia is just straight up crazy (yet is the sanest of the Harbringers)

Even with the brainwashed ones, there is only so far that they can use the "i was an orphan" excuse, a victim can become a victimizer, and after a line is crossed the punishment comes before the pity.

Only thing preventing all the nations from declaring war on Snezhnaya is the damage and time it takes to fix all the trouble they created in the first place. That and the fact that Genshin can only do one nation at a time.
