    To check the perfect climbing position ,you should lift the front wheel to simulate the bike tilt while climbing .

    Love how you combine bikefit with immediately going out for a ride. I'd feel much more confident when riding afterwards in my own.

    To be fair, no one should be riding such a gear on any gradient except maybe like 15%+ as untrained. Doing 40-60 cadence should not be a reference point for dysfunction as most functional riders will compensate under a load that forces them to ride that low a cadence. The postural recommendations were great, though. Not many people realize, that they should adopt a more aggressive position on steeper inclines, and also the open thumbs to alleviate tension in the back/shoulders/neck.

    Awesome video for the beginner in gravel world as me. I have no idea which size should I choose. I am between ML and L size in Revolt geometry and sizing. I am 6'1 and 33,5 inch inseam. Maybe can you advise?

      5’9”-6’0” L and 6’0”-6’3” xl. recommend a foot less , that will be large , becsuse of inseam size

    Hi Coach, I am 5’6-5’7 (with shoes) and thinking of getting the exact the same bike, Giant Revolt 1. What frame size would you recommend, an XS or S frame? Thanks - Jules from Auckland, New Zealand

    • @casperlow2642
      @casperlow2642 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might want to consider your your inseam as well for sizes. Usually revolt are a more relax geometry. Im a 5’6 in height and i ride a small revolt. i have to change my stem to a longer one and move my saddle back. It also depends to your riding style! Are you a fast or more of a party pace rider.

    • @xxxxx845
      @xxxxx845 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello friend. I’m 5’7 tall. Would i buy a giant revolt size M? I read that you a little shorter and had to adjust the stem and saddle to size S.

    I realize this video was made a long time ago. I also am looking at the Revolt as my next upgrade. The Giant site says size Medium for my height of 5'8. But size Small also covers that at maximum stem length and seat adjustment I guess. Seeking your help on this sir. Thanks!

    • @CruzControlPH

      I'm 5'10" and and the small fits me fine. A word of warning though if you have not already purchased the Revolt: beware of the D-Fuse seat post and clamping mech. My post has been slipping and creaking since day one and will not stop. I've only had the bike for one week/3 rides and I've been back to the shop with no resolution. Shop is submitting a warranty claim to get another frame or complete bike, but from what I've been reading online (that I wish I'd known) the seat post slip and creak is extremely common. If anyone out there has experienced the same and has found a solution, please pass it on. I would be most grateful.

      @@SuperJohnnyO I've seen people talk about switching to a round carbon seat tube post instead of the D-Fuse one that comes w/the bike.

    Hi Coach, I noticed her bike size is already XS and yet it's still not a good size for her. May I ask what is her height and what size is recommended for her? I don't believe Giant has a 2XS size in the market. Planing to purchase the same bike as hers and I am 5'5" in height with a standover height of 73cm.

    • @CruzControlPH
      @CruzControlPH  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      She stands 5ft 3. It’s usually the length of the top tube that defines the overall riding experience

      I am looking at Live bikes which are made women specific. I'm about 5'1 3/4". Live bikes are basically made by Giant but more for women. I have been looking at Revolt 2 & the Live Devote 2 Be Good bike. Have to test ride the Revolt. I rode a Liv Road bike, the Avail XS & it seemed a bit small. Would need some adjustments. When I sat on the Revolt, I like that it had a more upright feel. The question is Small vs. XS on either bike. I also want to ride the Trek Checkpoint & see how they all feel. I may go up to the more middle price point bike around $3000 for the Liv or the Giant. Any thoughts would be appreciated. I currently have a 17 yr old Giant OCR3 Road bike fits me great, but I want to do some off the paved road trails & this new bike will take me to my 80's if it lasts as long. I am 63 & have been riding for 30+ yrs. Just looking to enjoy the great outdoors & that wonderful feeling you get on a good fast ride.

    This is first non mountain bike I've owned and it's great, handles our less than ideal roads and alleys while giving more speed than my hard tail. If you're wanting a road bike but live with little bike lanes and poor roads a gravel of any kind is your answer.
