What a lovely shade of blue! I LOVE the tool you used for the wood grain! How fun, I'm going to try that 😃

From Marietta, Georgia. I have used this paint and was just getting ready to try it in my sprayer. Glad I watched this first. I really like the paint with a brush or roller. Beautiful transformation, I was so bummed when the top didn't stain well after all that work. Using a pre-stain wood conditioner really helps. I have also tried 2 coats of paint wash on a top that had slightly burned through veneer and it allowed some wood grain to still show through but disguised the damage.

I love rolling Valspar paint, It has the best coverage. I was really bummed too. 😭 I'll have to pick up some pre stain and give it a try. I have also read that spraying water on the dry wood is similar to pre stain, have you ever tried this method? Im just curious, maybe I'll make that into a video in the future. Thanks for your tips, I greatly appreciate it! 😊

Just so you know, when staining you always end with a 180 grit. That leaves some wood fibers open to except the stain. If you have blotchyness, then use wood conditioner 1st. Let dry then stain. It gives a more even stain. Not all woods need it but some do. I watch Transend & Trena on John's furniture Repair. When painting furniture, you should AWLAYS spray Shellac 1st. That way if someone else wants to strip it, it comes off easier. You won't have to use a dental tool to dig out the paint from the wood.
