Aethiopes is truly brilliant, i find that its themes and density were hugely glossed over amongst its first round of analysis when it first came out almost two years ago now, I loved Professor Skye's review because of how it uncovered a monstrous amount of information that was interweaved throughout each and every fiber of this album, you guys also have done a really good job of breaking this record down, which is very appreciated :)
This album made me goggle so much like no other. I swear billy woods isn't just one of the best lyrists, but also has a vast knowledge of history and politics. When I listened to hiding places the second time it became apparent how much of a poet he is. I would also like to point out that DJ Preservation(?) has another collab with the abstract rapper from NYC, named KA. He is a very introspective, conscious type of rapper with a lot of mythological themes. His instrumentals are mostly 'Drumless' and/or psychedelic be it from his own production or Preservation in that matter.
this album as absolutely incredible, took many listens for me to get into, but it was well worth the effort. it's on constant repeat. thanks for the indepth breakdowns on some of the tracks
