Thats proper old school animators for you. They would spend large amounts of time looking at references to whatever they were making so it would look and feel right. One of my favorite examples is Bambi. All the different animals are very well done. That, and another of my favorites, The Aristocats

She barely made it past her first birthday, but she was a pure little soul. Rip Gizmo. We still love you and think about you everyday.

Also, we keep getting remakes of the golden era from Disney, but we really need some spotlight on the bronze age. Used to watch this Robin Hood on my church's old VHS player and TV - it was my favorite I think because it was one of the only non religious stories and was so cute. We used to watch it over and over during church because we got taken out of "big church". Nothing made a Sunday morning like watching that movie, eating animal crackers and cheese balls, and drinking some caprisuns.
