      @TheMissMaggs 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I noticed the same. This video shows his distress more than previous ones. Can't say I blame him. There are so many aspects of this that make it difficult.
      My father has mild dementia and trying to get him to wash his hands is damned near impossible. It's not his fault- he doesn't retain the fact that COVID-19 is a thing. And one of the first changes we noticed with him was he stopped practicing proper hygiene (this is years ago). He has sort of regressed into believing that if he isn't visibly dirty that means he's perfectly clean. That has been a battle for so long and now- but now it's coupled with COVID-19. This is incredibly stressful because he has comorbid conditions that make him high-risk and he is over 65. So add his high-risk status with his repulsion at the idea of washing his hands and this is a nightmare waiting to happen...

      Exactly how capitalism works - no need for a presidential Defense directive, the businesses that can make them see the profit opportunity in making/selling more of them and rise to the occasion. I'm betting others are looking at making N95 masks, gowns, etc... However it will take time, you can't ramp up production that much instantly, there's OT and hiring/training new employees, procuring raw materials, tooling, etc.

      Message sent to Dr. Campbell earlier:
      I'm sorry, but using cumulative totals does not reveal the true growth rate for infectious disease. Nobel Laureate Michael Levitt, using official data from the WHO and CDC, has shown the rate of COVID-19 infection in the US to be slowing once background noise in the data is removed. He sees a similar decline in numerous other countries around the world.
      Sadly, neither the CDC nor WHO understand how to analyze a trend line, something I have done professionally for many years, though not in the medical field. At any rate, the US is beginning to turn the corner on this virus and we thankfully have one quarter the rate of death per million compared to the rest of the globe, and a decline in the CFR is being observed in various other nations.
      The rest of the globe will experience a greater challenge than the US in coming months due to medical infrastructure, demographics, and population health, but the peak will occur sooner rather than later. Here in the US, we can thank President Trump for acting quickly with respect to border and travel management. Based on my own research of the virus, I believe we have 3 weeks before the global peak of cases has been reached.
      The US is not becoming a new epicenter for COVID-19, the rise in confirmed cases is a result of increased testing, not despite the rise in test results. Please, doctor, you need to think more logically about the facts, listen to those with greater expertise than yourself, we do not to be engaging in hysteria.

    • @BismillahArif
      @BismillahArif 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bo Radley thanks for asking. It is spreading undetected. We don’t have health care system. Neither test kits. It is just the matter of time. I think a poor country like ours will suffer the most. Also through lockdown most citizens won’t be able to support themselves since their livelihood depends on daily wage. Government has no money to give salary. So I think the nightmare is coming unless other countries help us.

      To keep calm really really really can't stress the importance of meditation ..to start with most will find it difficult as most minds are restless ..suggest an online group or monk on you tube ..monk rather than anyone else because the monks are really the proffesional meditators, are definitely not in it for the money and have very pure intentions so their instructions are better ....keep do it for longer amounts of time and it will pay off ...and also helps the sick ....a lot which can make us sad and by watching our minds we can calm down and therefore be more effective

      unfortunately it isn't that simple u also have to take the economic line on this as well,they have to take in to account the impact on people economically,the best way to deal with this is a full lock down but ultimately that causes problems for the poorest in the country and will lead to deaths,listening to a Dr or a biologist kinda gives u a one dimensional opinion on the matter as they will purely concentrate on the virus and its just not that simple or possible to do that unfortunately

    My workplace has now had 1 (possibly 2) confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the building, they've kept it quiet and didn't tell employees (including those who were in DIRECT contact with the confirmed case) for 10 days, finally had to tell everyone this afternoon as the rumour got out, so now the building is closed for deep cleaning for 1 DAY! And that's it! On Friday I need to go back into that workplace. There is no social distancing and no improved hygiene measures. A number of staff are high risk or live with high risk people.

Yesterday, her provider was out sick, and the providors' test results came back positive today. So, everyone in that office should quarantine, right? No, they've been told that they have to work; unless they are actively sick. Now, my daughter has been told to wear a mask; at work and at home. No one in the office is being offered testing.

    • @skyhawk_4526
      @skyhawk_4526 4 ปีที่แล้ว +76

      Definitely true. I'm a first responder in CA. We had a medical call for a 72 y.o. with "complications from bronchitis." The patient died at the scene despite 20 minutes of CPR and other life saving attempts. It turned out the patient was given an over-the-phone diagnosis of "bronchitis" based on symptoms, and prescribed an antibiotic just 2 days prior to death. The patient was never even seen by a nurse or doctor, and never given a test for COVID-19, despite being at a high risk (age, high blood pressure, history of asthma). None of the first responders at the scene know if we were exposed to COVID-19, nor will we ever know because the coroner was contacted by phone only and released the decedent to next of kin without autopsy or any testing. If this person did have COVID-19, it's likely the whole household now has it. But I doubt they'll be allowed testing either. I think this is ridiculous and situations like this are probably happening all over the place.

      @@maryrenaud6732 this is my problem with all of this testing talk. It would appear to me that in the u.s. we are more concerned with controlling the population and not detecting the virus. I really dont understand the logic, i guess its just my lack of understanding. Just something to think about, if i continue to show you a running tally of numbers and that number keeps going up regardless of what people are doing how would we the people ever really know what is true and whats not? We are in a position where we have to appeal to the same authority that has shown that they will let people die in the pursuit of bigger bank accounts. What makes them trustworthy now. Oh i know, because we are afraid.....

      Unfortunately, here in germany the max testing capacity has been reached dome days ago. so more and more people stay untested after contact with an infected, even when showing light symptoms. of course they will be ordered to isolate (not controlled). Since Germany misses out to count a number of mild cases, the reported letality rate will increase over time here as well.

      @@stopthamadness2012 What can a mere citizen do, when the majority of Americans do not support the health reform movement. They are content with those health insurance companies making a profit of 11% rather than only below 5% with Medicare for All plan. The majorities also love to buy medication at a higher price than other countries like Canada and etc. There nothing for a concerned individual can do as the majority will vote for Trump again as Biden and the DNC and just a shill. All we can do is to take care of our own family to stay safe through distancing and isolation.

I became unwell , cough and fever 5 days later. I have a 111 service number and told I am not unwell enough to need hospitalisation and to ring back if the breathlessness gets worse. I am struggling such a lot. I can’t get tested, so how are these MP,s getting tested and film stars and now Prince Charles ! Who has mild illness. I feel abandoned by the very service I have worked all my life for. Thanks

      Sir, please listen to me, here is a Native American Indian tea for painful coughs -- I had been using for years: California Redwood leaves if you can pick any in your area, also get Ponderosa Pine needles. Wash them (a handful bunch) and boil them in fresh water with mint leaves and serve with honey. Drink it as often as your daughter can. This is the Traditional cure for respiratory problems by Native Americans from West Coast Pacific Northwest.

    I made dinner at my girlfriend's and her three girls' home last evening, just a few hours before the curfew began in NZ. While they were showering or otherwise out of the kitchen I changed into my pro' Bio-hazard suit, proper rubber respirator, rubber boots, gloves and unnecessary ear-muffs and began cooking dinner. It brought the house down and photos were taken. In spite of that frivolity we are all acutely conscious of the importance of protecting, firstly ourselves, and those others within our 2m range.

    The department I ran for many years was eliminated and my last day was Nov 1, 2019. Having worked there for so long I have many friends still working for this non profit. My friend Jazmond was 31. I worked with her indirectly. In addition to her 40 hrs a week she was a fulltime student in process of and did graduate with her masters degree in business and was beautiful, bright, vivacious, funny and had great laugh. We would talk way too long for our employers liking, a few days a week, about what business she would like to start and research her business plan. On Monday, March 16 she went to work, the next day felt sick, left work and went to Urgent Care who immediately hospitalized her, later that night she was critical, by Thursday, March 19 she was already ventilated and very tragically passed away by Sunday, March 22.
    Jazmond was St. Louis, Mo. USA's 1st documented death from this virus. Two more of my friends sitting adjacent to her are now presumptive positive of what is clearly an extremely aggressive strain. The employees live all around the greater St. Louis area, including Illinois counties & traveling managers, visiting remote staff in a 5 state circle, could all be exposed.
    Please stay home, everyone working there are by our Governors definition, "non essential workers", doing daily admin work that must be collected and processed onsite, who have been told in "corporate terminology" to come to work. No buts. Sound familiar?
    I just want to say, trust your gut, especially now while this is not under control and being managed reactively as opposed to proactively to protect the economy., among other things.
    Have Faith, you will make it if you have to find another job to protect the well being of your household. 35-50k annually is not worth your life.
    ~Much Love and protection to all.

    You are my own personal fireside chats, talking in a clear, informed, calm, yet empathic manner. I live in the US, and I'm concerned that too many politicians are worrying more about the economy than the health and well-being our citizens. Americans are provided with daily mixed messaging. A small number of governors (NY, California, etc.) have demonstrated leadership, but struggle with enlisting the cooperation or assistance of the federal government. By the time our delays and mistakes are recognized, the amount of loss and suffering could be astronomical. It's going to be painful to hear about NYC over the coming days and weeks.
