Blown rubber has air bubbles within it to provide more cushioning.
I think Nike calls their blown rubber "duralon".
John Lucas yes that's where the "blown" name comes from. it's used in running shoes because of its superior grip on pavement and it's lighter and bouncier compared to solid rubber.

The hovr is my top cushioning use the phantom for everything running, training, walking, and casual I abused the hell out of that shoe and it still feels amazing

Hey Chris. So I've had my HOVR Infinite's now for about a month. I originally posted further down that I was happy they did a wide version of the shoe for folks with bricks for feet like I have. I also would like to add I got these so that I could begin walking and eventually jogging as I've set a loftly long term goal to lose about 160lbs. So to put into perspective I weigh about 360lbs. These shoes are AMAZINGLY comfortable under foot while moving. Zero pain in my feet. Which has made it nice to get started with exercising. The HOVR cushion may be the best non air zoom cushion I've ever felt on foot. It's definitely the only other shoe that are not my Lebron 16's in which I can wear them for an entire day and have no pain. Sorry to ramble, just excited. I definitely would recommend these to ANYONE looking to do any kind of walking or running. I hope they release another colorway in wide so I can get another pair!

Man as much as I would like to see you go running with Mrs. Wing, you probably run enough testing all the basketball shoes.
I often wonder how do you manage to test all the pairs. But if your body feels ok I guess going running like once in a week could be fun.
Once I ran with my friend and he just does not seem to get tired. I was dying towards the end. But overall it was fun and a good memory.
So maybe try at least one time.

Ok I have to give under armour a big credit on this shoe. They released a wide version. Which I just purchased and am waiting for it to arrive. Trying hard to lose weight and needed a shoe like this.
Got my pair in today. If you are a wide footer the W fit pair is the way to go. Very comfortable. The hovr cushion is amazing. Probably will put in a nicer insole that's my only complaint really. Looking forward to using these to better myself.
I only bought the HOVR Guardian this week, I need a structure runner and normally wear Asics Kayano 24 and 25. I got them for walking as I liked the look of them I never looked up any reviews or anything but when I put them on I was so impressed they feel lovely and so comfortable so I decided to try an easy run and see how they would feel I am even more impressed I felt like I was gliding along they make it easier to run faster I had to pay attention to my pace as I just kept speeding up! I am now planning to swap them to my running runners and use my Asics as my walking runners. I am marathon training so just want to make sure they are suitable for longer distances I think they are. but compared to when I first bought my Asics it took a few 2 weeks before they moulded to my feet and felt as comfortable.
I agree with the comment about basketball shoes adopting the same mindset as runners. Where are the shoes for over or under pronators? For arch heights? Lengths? Wide vs normal vs narrow feet? How about shoes for different heel toe drops? It seems making one shoe and marketing it for "everyone that likes or wants to be like _____ athlete" may make more money for basketball though, so it won't change until one brand starts doing it and it takes off forcing the rest to do it for market share. Runners don't exactly watch "running" every night so that makes me think if there were such a thing runners might be like ball shoes too.

what's the lightest shoe in their new collection? 10.75 oz is pretty heavy for a running shoe. distance shoes are usually around 9-10 oz and speed shoes are usually 7-8.

For running, I 100% believe that less is more.
Was told that I should wear “stability” shoes whenI started runing. Been running in new balance minimus in my 2nd month of distance running then transitioned to luna sandals. 😊
Go ahead run with the mrs. It would also help with leg conditioning for playing hoops. 👌🏽
It’s the same thing with hoop shoes, if you want low to the ground for quickness, go with more firmer and less cushioned shoes to go faster.
I wear running shoes when I hit the weights(because I need to wear shoes in the gym when I use the weights) or for casual wear. 😅
These are my personal favorite running shoes. Gotta do the 2nd version of this shoe.
My partner has done a few half marathons, I hate running. But I got a pair of ultraboosts for really cheap about a year ago, and went running with her a couple of times, it wasn't so bad really. I've since done a 6km event run and a 12km, and it feels good to have done them. I still don't exactly enjoy running, but it IS nice to be able to support someone you love in their hobby every so often. Give it a try, I reckon.

I used to mainly run 2 miles every day and had been just using Nike free runs from the outlet I’ve gotten multiple times for under $20. Now I am focusing more on sprints but I don’t know if there’s a better shoe for that
I only have one UA running shoe, the UA Charged Bandit 3, bought it for like 50$ (45 euros here in Spain) and is one of my favourite shoes for 5-15k distances, excellent balance between response and cushion, steady cushion in all the shoe from heel to toe and i really like the speedform heel tech. I never tried HOVR cushion so far, i´m waiting for some UA HOVR shoes on sale to try. As far as running cushion i like DNA-DNA Loft from Brooks for training longer distances, but Everun is a nice cushion too, more responsive and snappy, more race day focused, at least for me. Greetings from Spain and keep up the good job!
I also possess Bandit 3, along with Charged Escape, and now I just got the Sonics today, can't wait to try them out for a run. Bandits are great, but Escape are just a tad bit more comfortable, and a more snug fit. Sonics seem like the first shoe that I could actually run sockless in, with my oversensitive feet.
Also, speedform heel tech? Isn't that the tech that molds the knit upper to the shape of your foot? I don't think it has anything to do with the heel.

I had all of KG's TS Commander shoes. The Supernatural ones and the Bounce ones. At that time, I thought they were the coolest looking shoes adidas could produce, along with the Equation. And yeah, you should run with Ms. Wing.

I’d like to see more running reviews, I’m primarily a hooper but since I’m in the Army I run a lot more then any normal person would do. So it would be nice. An you’re right Nightwing, blown rubber is just air injected rubber, it’s soft and adds a little bit of soft ride but gets chewed up easily.
Get a run in with your queen my brotha you know knock a couple miles out together and chill. Just ordered my pair of UA infinites today too. I’m from and live in Bmore the home of UA and we sport all their gear here.

Should totally vlog about running! Maybe start at training for a 5k and work up to a marathon. Going to do my first marathon in April.
Michael Broz congrats on the marathon goal! I’m 10 yrs into this and I’ve yet to go there. Half’s are kinda my limit when it comes to time. Chris has actually ran a handful of 5ks and 10ks with me. He even has a great story about a trail run I once talked him into.
Have both pairs of hovr phantoms, I personally prefer the upper on the originals over the se. However the best part of the shoe (cushion) is still the same and you can’t beat the MapMyRun app!!!
Road Runner Sports already has these. I picked them up a couple weeks ago.

UA came to Austin with these shoes back in November and gave our early pairs. I was so disappointed...It was a total over engineered clunky mess 😩 I ended up just giving them away 3 weeks later.

WearTesters yeah their HOVR Guardian. They had the phantom 2 and some other shoe...but i was kinda over it after the infinite. 😅

My biggest beef with the Sonic is the tread. It wears out so fast, max 200 km. I really hope these last longer.

I think that 31cm for UA and Nike ain't the same. I tried once UA. Can't remember which model. But whole feet was balanced on 2 points which was not expected. And cool. Because in them I could stand and not fall ahead. Money was issue than, but now I would gladly tried it.
I say run with her. It’s a great way to get some good exercise at your age. Plus it’s a great way to branch to a new audience. Also New Balance makes some great runners

Blown rubber is micro-cellular rubber, kinda like rubber foam.
EVA foam has EVA as the main raw material, and a blowing agent adds the tiny bubbles inside it turning it into a foam. Same for blown rubber, just that the main raw material is rubber.
Blown rubber is softer and lighter, hence used in running shoes. But is has lower abrasion resistance compared to solid rubber. Hence solid rubber (the black piece in this shoe) is used in higher wear areas like the heel, and blown rubber is used in lower wear areas.
And you guessed it, I'm a total shoe dog. 😊

@@garettsuperloser804 lol sorry. They were very light with a thin sole. I found them comfortable and the information provided through the app help improve my running. I replaced them with some sonic 3 which were just as good.

I use to run middle to long distance on gravel, trails and asphalt roads. Now i have spine injury, and i running shorter distances on soft terrain and hilly roads. I order pair of this, so did someone have similar experiance/problem or just a advice for this shoes. Thank you :)

I hate running...after the military, I quit running unless it's bball! LOL!! I use runners primarily for everyday wear and for work. I agree, the basketball category def strayed from playing style specific marketing. I remember in the 90s and early 2000s...Nike had Jordan, Flight, Uptempo and Force as categories of playing style type shoes but that went away from that. Maybe it's because the game is changing and player playing styles are more hybrid now? Also....(my observation only) I'm assuming Blown Rubber is like Duralon in Nike running. Duralon is a Rubber compound that is a mixture of rubber and foam...like maybe 70% rubber/ 30% foam, to give you traction and durability but still give you extra cushion......as opposed to carbon rubber compounds that are harder and meant for durability.

Man, you run for miles playing basketball, and you test shoes for a living. I couldn’t imagine how much running that would involve. Gotta save those knees brother. Gonna say no on the running (sorry Mrs Wing!) lol! You do a lot of running playing ball for sure, and I know it’s not a consistent thing. It’s more sprinting than anything. But yeah, adding running on top of that would be hell lol! If you weren’t testing like 10 different shoes at once, I’d say yes to running.
