- The geography and politics of the Mahabharata war can come to explain why Pandawas rebelled and won the war. Let's look at the map of India from that time to learn the possible politics, alliances, and other interesting things that led to the Mahabharata war and ultimately decided who would win the holy war. Let's understand the geopolitics of Mahabharata.

Navin has unbelievable knowledge of history,
A little suggestion for the channel
The same conversation should be serious on depth of curiosity instead of some funny comment
Will u see same this channel as likr TRS
I am writing in Pakistan about the similar point of view for last two years.
I am impressed
Thanks

Man i can really see some certain group of people gettimg offended. Anyways great content, keep it up!!
Thanks!
The intention is not to offend anyone. We are great fans of the Mahabharata-the greatest story ever told. The fact that it lends itself to such analysis just highlights its greatness, in my opinion.
-@Navin
Certain “Snowflakes”
What will you do with great content when events he mentioned to prove his points are not in the order it happened
This is like saying Pakistan carved out of India in 1947 because Pakistan lost kargil war in 1999
@@TheFutureIQ it is itihasa. Not story. Itihasa means it happened.
You are amazing I never thought of this
Even the Mughals played the 'divine legitimacy". That's why their thrones were always on a very high ground and nobody was to look at them directly on their face. Shahjahan even did this magical appearance on his throne. Jahangir commissioned himself to be painted as a divine being
Great point. This concept of "divine legitimacy" is something that I struggle to explain properly. I should collect more such examples. -navin
@@TheFutureIQ there are so many examples. 1st the address. Shajahan is a title. His name was different. Then before the emperor at the Delhi court there was a long list of titles bestowed on him and everyone was asked to lower their eyes... the throne gallery is almost 10 ft high so he was on a higher level... then there was door behind curtains. He would come thru the door, stand behind the curtains till all his titles are announced. Quietly slip into the throne and veil was raised to reveal him. Like magic. All fan fare. 😄
Great episode...plz make an episode on how to network....jo appne networking waale episode me bola tha...
Yes, Praveen, we're working on that episode. Hopefully it will be done soon.
really intresting
The root cause of the war was hydrological stress due to geomorphology changes.
Metaphorically, Indra favored Ganga over Sarawati.
The Sarawati river disappeared causing drought
War being caused by hydrological stress seems fine. However, it was more likely to be the shifting of the Yamuna (which happened recently (geologically speaking)). If there was a Saraswati, it was further West and its disappearance is likely to be much earlier. -@Navin
@@TheFutureIQ around 3100 BC, it was a forty day horse ride to find the source of the river where is dissappear underground.
Geographically it could be in the middle of the Kuru empire.
Verify this?
All autocracies fall into war and suffering, family feuds, killings.. Even if it's established by the God himself. Simple summary of Mahabharat
Nice sweet talk story telling
Krishna, before never like and now a days worship that's part missing - make a video on this, too. Thanks
Can you tell me which map you r using? I also want to study the hd map of that time. Please 🙏
Try this, from the translation of Mahabharata by JAB van Buitenen: drive.google.com/file/d/1FXGeh0mokOD3eaTIA-ifFIR3P7i4rvE1/view
@@TheFutureIQ I honestly hadn't thought you would answer. Thank you for this. I am currently writing a book based on the world of mahabharat (risky, I know), but this would be helpful in that.
Krishna was an opportunist politician and not promoted to Godhead yet.
Krishna is avatar of Vishnu to establish dharma and punish the bad. In Hastinapuras he has shown viswaroopam .
@@parupudiphanindra3126 why was he given that promotion. Who gave it to him?
Nice..! Can you make a full detailed one on this.?
Thanks!
Unfortunately, my expertise in the geography and geopolitics of Mahabharata is not deep enough to do anything more. I just picked this up from JAB van Buitenen's comments in his translation of the critical edition.

Wow, such high quality videos and only 1380 subs!!!!!!

What he is saying is already in Mahabharata and he is quoting from it.
We can say one thing about Mahabharata. Every thing in the world is in Mahabharata. Nothing
Left in the world which is not in Mahabharata. Ramayana and Mahabharata are itihasas Bristish leftists and so called secullerists made it storys and myth.
Truth is the only form of God
Mahabhart is not important for it's reader because of its history or geopolitical story but it is important to its reader because of versus complied as Geeta. your geopolitical explanation do not fit with the versus of vyas written mahabharata.
Liked the new perspective. But if कृष्ण" got rid off Jarasandh and शिशुपाल, what is the need for a fight within Kuruclan. What's his real intention?
If Hastinapur is ruled by Duryodhan who doesn't listen to Krishna/Panchal then all the gains from getting rid of Shishupal and Jarasandh will be undone. They need to have their friends/protegees on the Hastinapur throne, since Hastinapur is in a very strategic location geographically.
I guess it was give n take, you (Bheem) kill Jarasandh I'll help you win hastinapur.
Also Krishna & Balaram didn't fight in war.
@@sandeepshettigar7574 But their entire army did, that too on behalf of Duryodhan!
Any evidence of his thoughts.
No. This is all speculation (but interesting speculation).
-navin
Good perspective that is not justified....
I have stopped Half Way listening to this video to make this content. the anchor is really irritating giggling and laughing in between. It looks like he doesn't believe in the content which you don't believe and interested.
Good content but horrible anchoring
This geopolitics explanation is not even 5% of what mentioned in Mahabharata and it is half true. Suggest to read Mahabharata fully so that we can understand what is the basic difference of emperor and king. Krishna made yudistira as emperor not king with first prime minister as Vidhur.
Emperor of bunch of district size area 🙄
It was a 40 day horse ride to find source of Saraswati river. It was mentioned in Mahabharata?
Story also starts much earlier.
Jarasandha was the father-in-law of Kamsa, and Krishna killed Kamsa.
Jarasandha attacked Mathura, 18 times and on the 18th attempt manages to conquer Mathura.
Krishna and Balarama moved to Dwaraka.
So, Krishna wanted to defeat Magadha. And the best way to destroy a kingdom is to put a puppet in power, which Krishna did.
@@dom4068Krishna not lost any war against jarasandha. Due to multiple attacks repeatedly to give safe place to yadavas Dwaraka was made and yadavas moved to Dwaraka.
@@parupudiphanindra3126 Ok, so ran away from the war?
Very well explained. Krishnas reasoning to like pandvas was Kunti who was his Aunt. Kunti was flirtatious and had sons from different fathers not from Pandu. In one sense Durodhan has every right to be king of Hastinapura.Krisna truly outsmarted these guys.
Truth. The same political strategies are still being played in every modern country
No my friend George W Bush did not gave Geeta gyan, nor did he gave wows that he won't take weapons. So start reading your own History.
"Assassination" is not the right choice of word. If I say the person who is narrating the geopolitics is very casual in using English words and I call him idiosyncratic. A very bad way to present potentially good content. I would request both of you to read the original Mahabharat completely and then you shall realise your naivety. You completely forgot Gandhara. So misleading and subjective is the narration narration.
Read Mahabharatha or at least watch the series to get a basic story. Bhima killed Jarasandha first. Thus making themselves eligible for Rajasuya which makes Yudhishtira am emporar. At the Rajsuya Shishupala was invited as guest. There he insulted Bhishma and Krishna which resulted in his death by Krishna. So Shisupala was not killed first, Jarasandha was...!!!
Please rely on history rather than legend or myth
Dont interconnect philosophy mahakavya with real as history and science
First of all it was not mythology it was history and second stop making fun of it
You can always provide evidence. And why history cannot be made fun of? Under which law. Do the Chinese study Mahabharat as part of History?
@@vinsin328 well in that case make fun of christianity and islams history I dare challenge u
It is said in mahabharatha that 18 akshauhinis of armies took part in the war in kurukshethra .

Were the chariots also cermated ?

Waiting for someone to get offended. I will ensure my great great grand children don’t get offended when someone makes fun of Harry Porter few centuries from now.
Btw, go to York, UK and you will find evidence of Harry Porter and all its stories existing in real. But does that mean Harry Porter was a real character ?
I heard your reasons and seriously asked myself "He seems very right", but then I heard from the other guy "Mythology"? What if I call your parents mythology then you must be bloody "I don't know what".
Next is the assumptions make great story but it completely challenges the Documental history called "Mahabharat". But there was no proof, atleast from any other document.
Third is calling Krishna names makes you my Enemy. I idiolize him cause he gave Geeta, so he can't just attack any Country just to take revenge, it means Shit. This is not "Song of Ice and Snow", this is "Mahabharat".
So you can just F off
Worst explanation. Horrible behavior of the Blue shirt guy.
Your hypothesis of geopolitics reasons for Mahabharat war is wrong.
There is no evidence of Panchala & Mathura kingdoms having interest in Hastinapur kingdom.
Geopolitically, lands of Panchal & Mathura are more fertile than Hastinapur - as explained by you. So there is no good reason.
When Jarasandha was defeated, the threat from Magadha also was eliminated. So they didn't need protection of Hastinapur.
Arjun won Draupadi at her swayamvar as a Brahman and not as a Prince. So Drupad didn't plan to marry Draupadi to the prince of Hastinapur.
In Mahabharat text, the reasons of war are specifically mentioned.
It happened because of Duryodhan didn't give Pandavs' kingdom Indraprastha back to them after returning from the Exile.
You are correct but Gandhari used to believe that it happened because of Krishna. He mentioned that for any war the real reason would always be hidden. We still do not know why in 1971 suddenly Pakistan attacked Gujarat and Rajasthan.
@@vinsin328
Correction - Gandhari accused Krushna that he could have stopped the war by mediation but he didn't try hard enough.
I don't know about 1971 war but Russia - Ukraine war's real reason has been derived by geopolitics analysts.
It's de-dollarisation!
Dollarisation created the conflict between Russia & Ukraine. So for de-dollarisation to complete, the conflict should end - by means of a war.
If Drupad and Krishna were cooking up a clandestine plot to get the Pandavas on their side, they couldn't openly admit that they knew Arjun's real identity, isn't it?
But yes, the point about Jarasandha is well-taken: I do feel that's a weakness of the theory

Yes geopolitics rules anywhere but how geography decided winner here. You eye catching headline got lost somewhere in the fab,e that you are cooking up here
this is ridiculous. although this is true but you pretended that jarasandh and sishupal were very nobel man. what about the other side of story.
if we place magadh as china and chedi as pakistan then people can easily understand the situation
I was thinking on similar lines too 😅
It is all right commenting on geo political points. Do not give your own explanation for the killing of shisupala. You should have right frame of mind to understand. Read the scriptures properly and make your comments in right perspective.
So Krishna kills Kara’s and h and jarasandh’s son become friendly with Krishna . Despite magadh still being more powerful. Btw in which fab,e this happens. I get ti someone else being olace on throne can be amenable but son will just forget his father’s death . See these are the kind of things you have to cook up to make your fantastical tales .
