    There are way too many excellent ice cream parlors to fit into two short videos so here is the next-to-final list I worked from to get it down to the 6:
    (Not in ranking order)
    Bi-Rite Creamery
    Mr. & Mrs. Miscellaneous
    Humphry Slocombe
    Smitten Ice Cream
    Mitchell’s
    Polly Ann Ice Cream
    Garden Creamery
    San Francisco’s Hometown Creamery
    The Ice Cream Bar
    Swensen’s
    Milkbomb Ice Cream
    Marco Polo Italian Ice Cream
    Lush Gelato
    Note my criteria was the shop had to be San Francisco based and make their own ice cream so this excluded the current pop hit Salt and Straw which originates in Oregon.

      I went to a cafe ice cream shop in Japantown that offered a layered Asian sundae with red beans, mochi, and other offerings. It was called a Geisha float. I haven’t had it anywhere else in N. CA.

    Of all the things I miss about the Bay Area Mitchells rates among the most missed. I loved them because they sold gallons of it at my local grocer in San Mateo.

      @@ZeeneInRealLife , I wish they were open. Maybe they'd invent a covid19 themed flavor.

    • @ZeeneInRealLife
      @ZeeneInRealLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they are - I read an article they are scooping...give them a call, you might be in luck! A covid-19 flavor would be hilarious. Stale air flavor from being shut in so long...or bread flavor since everyone seemed to be on a baking craze for awhile. 😂

    I believe that I had Mitchell's ice cream when I was a kid living in San Francisco, which leads me to a question, did you grow up in San Francisco? I am enjoying watching your rating videos, first time watcher.

      @@ZeeneInRealLife I came to San Francisco from Detroit when I was around 15 and went to Herbert Hoover Jr. High, so also not born there, but still fell in love with the city and the multi-cultural atmosphere. I periodically check in on its heartbeat, hence viewing your videos.

    Not an ice cream question but how do you compensate backlight when you're sitting in front of a window? Usually the scenes without any fill light come out too dark and it doesn't look like you lug around a full lighting kit 😉

    • @ZeeneInRealLife
      @ZeeneInRealLife  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there! I just shoot with an iPhone and mic :) Usually I try to find a natural source of fill light. In a restaurant it could be a light above me. Sometimes I say screw it and and just let the background get overexposed!
