Thorfinn seeing that he cant escape people who love war is painfully realistic and depressing all in one. Humanity is selfish at the end of the day no matter the kind of people you are surrounded by. Seeing Einar broken after taking his first kill was depressing and Thorfinn's reaction to seeing his best friend in such a sad state is just truly tragic. But the saddest and most painful prt about all of this is seeing the village they created and named to honor Arneid and her wishes became everything they ever hated and like every other village that got pillaged in this story.
The Lnu just aren't open to peace negotiations anymore.
Much less now that they're all becoming infected by the plague brought from overseas by the invaders.
That "we don´t have many dead" panel went down hard as F.
The fact that he ended the chapter RIGHTT BEFORE THEIR MEETING, andd saying a hiatus next month.Yukimura knows what he is doingg toying with uss like that
That’s what I’m saying
This is some intense storytelling,. Last time I was on edge was since Naruto vs sasuke.. Vinland saga is goated
Seeing Einar's dead eyes must have been heartbreaking for Thorfinn.
Sadly, the brothers must face off with their ideals. And while Thorfinn may not choose to fight, he is surrounded by those on both sides who wish for bloodshed. If Einar won't settle for peace, this will likely end with one of them as casualties.
Yukimura keeps on cooking. Vinland Arc is already the best arc!!
We crying extra hard these last few chapters
Thorfyyyyyy : ,,(
I’m very happy when bug eye finally have a wife 😂
Let Yukimura cook indeed
Let Yukimura cook!! This is heat!!!!
This chapter really hit me damn. Can't tell if I want the new chapters sooner or want the series not to end
I get you. My reaction to seeing there was a new chapter was more of panic, actually. The story is simply too close to its (thematic) end, and we know that when it comes it will be brutal. Couldn't resist reading it, though haha
Good chapter overall but I am pissed there is gonna be another gap next month. Next chapter I can only imagine will be insane.
At this point im kind of numb to the hiatuses or missed deadlines for vinland.
As a Berserk fan, I think the Vinland chapter release schedule is fantastic lol
@ I agree, I'll take what I can get. Gives me time to read other Manga anyway.
Yukimura said hes having difficulty ending the manga. Lets gave the goat time to cook his masterpiece
Still (MUCH) better than One punch man 😂
Been waiting for your video on this!
My question is, are we never seeing Canute again ? It's been so damn long and I feel like he needs to have somewhat of a conclusion with the conversation he had with Thorfinn like 25 chapters ago.
Since Yukimura has never left a character unexplored that could still provide an interesting perspective, I believe him and Thorfinn will likely meet and compare the outcomes of the different paths each has taken... If Thorfinn is alive
@Olaola11-o8x if they follow irl thorfinn goes home in shame, has another kid with his wife and lives for another 1-4ish years before dying of disease or old wounds. Then his wife becomes a nun, lives in a little place one of their kids built went to Rome, came back, and lived a somewhat lone quiet life until she died
Epic review 🎉
Honestly at this point it's pretty hard to side with Thorifinn, his selfishness is just getting annoying at this point.
At the point there at it’s more selfish not to just disengage and flee both sides have major casualties styrk is the selfish one he just doesn’t wanna except his friend sacrificing himself for nothing if you think thorfinn is annoying then you never got the point of the series and your not a true fan
@illopenguin934 "YoUR nOt a trUE fAN"
You can criticize a character and still be a fan, I've been reading this manga since 2012 and have been a fan of Yukimuras other manga like Planetes for a long time.
Just because I think Thorifinn is being selfish for putting "muh ideals" over the lives of innocent people doesent mean I don't get what it's going for, in fact I think Thorifinn is SUPPOSED to come off as as selfish in this arc since it's clearly made to be his breaking point, I don't hate this arc for this or think the manga has gotten bad but if I were in the shoes of the people on Vinland I'd be 100% against Thorifinn, defense and self preservation are necessary and utopia is impossible and Thorifnn is starting to realize that.
@@TheDeathMetalOtakua great character is consistent even when it’s hard to stand with him if Thorfinn threw it away then his past actions lose all meaning he really means what he says even in the face of death and destruction
100% get your PoV but if thorfinn just gives up on his ideals, it just destroys the entire point of all his sacrifice. Yukimura is trying to imply that there is no right side and Thorfinn is not battling anyone in particular but instead fighting human nature. Its a losing battle from the get go, but I guess its about the journey. At least that's my perspective.
@ I mean I don't disagree, like I said I'm not against this arc or anything its more of a "if I was there" type of frustration, I get what Yukimura is going for and its consistent with Thorfinns character.
I'm not hateing or anything if thats how my comment sounded.
I think iff Thorfinn is going to die (not very likely) it is gonna end in peace, so not in a middle of this. His death will cause peace in Vinland. Meaning his loved ones and people who want peace, will be able to live there.
I loved how Thorfinn just went up to talk and was saying "stop fighting" it just shows how he will always use this method even if it sounds crazy
This is loosely based on the real life story of the viking settlement in North America. They won't "stay in peace" and this Vinland utopia that Thorfinn has made up in his head will end up being a total failure.
Not even sure where the author is trying to end this, this pacifism can only end in death for Thorfinn. A settlement for his people to thrive and build a life is a worthy cause to fight for.
@kalkisrevenge4841 I agree
Thorfinn about to get a reality check. Sometimes you have to fight.
Im Lovin Einar character
I wonder how askeladd willl handle this situation
Would his cunning have gotten him very far, though? I feel like in this situation, Thorfinn is in the same predicament Askeladd was in when he slayed the king. Both have had their limits tested over something that's very dear to them (Wales/The first method). I wonder what the outcome will be, this time
W
Prediction
Thorfinn will try to talk to Einar
amidst a lot of arguing and shouting from the others but none of his words will reach
the dead silent Einar.
Einar will attack Thorfinn and die.
I don't want this to happen because Einar is my favorite
but I think it will happen.
I think Einar will attack not so much because he disagrees with Thorfinn but because he believes he has gone past the point of no return.
How will Einar die?
Sure maybe someone like Hild
could step in and kill Einar in order to protect Thorfinn.
But I don't think it will be that.
I think Thorfinn will kill Einar
in the very moment Einar attacks. It won't even be
something Thorfinn himself
will have time to think about.
His body will simply react
and everyone will be shocked.
Except for one person. Einar.
Einar wants Thorfinn to kill him.
By the time Thorfinn realizes what he did Einar will already be mortally wounded and will have his final words before he dies.
After that Thorfinn will evacuate
with Gudrid and the others
but at the same time he will have this aura that says "don't try it"
to anyone who thinks about attacking them as they leave.
Yes to Thorfinn running away with Gudrid and the kids; but scratch the part where he'd kill Einar.
Einar can grow stronger still, so, it'd be a waste to kill him off now; it'd also be a huge loss for the Norsemen, who're barely holding out by themselves.
Besides, Einar looks as tired of Thorfinn's pacifistic prattle as everyone else, so he won't listen to him either.
I've said it before, and I still think now is the time for Thorfinn to take action, like Thors would in his place.
Thorfinn's family must be his top priority now: protecting them would be the best reason for him to fight again.
And if he has to kill someone, let Gao'oqi go first: that guy's got men of his tribe with him, but he alone is the biggest menace amongst them.
Thorfinn isn't going to "fight again". Those days are over.
Like I said if he kills Einar which I think he will it will because Einar forced his hand and Thorfinn reacted on instinct (which we have seen from him before)
and not because Thorfinn chose to.
I do and don't agree that it would be a waste to kill off Einar now.
I agree in the sense Einar is my favorite character and of course I would want him to live and maybe Einar and Thorfinn just go their separate ways with Einar staying and Thorfinn leaving.
If that happens I won't hate that ending but it would still be tragic
and it's still basically a death sentence for Einar and anyone else who stays.
I disagree however in the sense I think Einar's death here at the hands of Thorfinn would be good storytelling even though it would be painful and heartbreaking to see. I believe the manga may have already foreshadowed such a tragic conclusion to Einar's story arc.
You call it Thorfinn's pacifistic prattle but Thorfinn is objectively right here. Evacuation is their ONLY option for survival.
Thorfinn isn't gonna have his Thors moment. The Norse lost.
And I don't agree on Thorfinn killing Gao'oqi. Yes obviously he is a menace but it wouldn't serve much point beyond "proving" Thorfinn "wrong" and sure maybe that could be interesting but that could have been done with Garm.
Whereas Thorfinn being forced to kill Einar is something that couldn't happen until really now.
and it would have a far greater impact having to kill his own friend than killing an "enemy".
Of course that's just my opinion and I could very well be wrong and it will be interesting to see what Yukimura does.

Having a "Thors' moment", for him would mean understanding there's nothing wrong with fighting for others; especially your loved ones.
Thors was a pacifist, not stupid:
he knew there'd be times when dialogue wouldn't work, so he'd have to use force next. And if his family were ever in danger, he'd be unstoppable.
So would Thorfinn now that he's a father himself.
It's all-out war, and the Norse are on their last legs right now: they're all mentally exhausted, and may be easily manipulable in their state; many could also be fed up with Thorfinn's pacifism by now. The timing is good for Styrk to further stir the pot: to make Thorfin a scapegoat and turn as many men to his side as he can.
If Styrk actually started a rebellion, I don't see Thorfinn settling things peacefully; that ship has sailed. Most men aren't going to follow his way anymore.
A chief's relatives are often the first to be targeted in such circumstances, which is definitely where Thorfinn would draw the line: he can't hesitate to fight anyone threatening his family.
Einar and co. are ready to stay and hold the fort, so Thorfinn has his family to worry about now; and he better be willing to kill to keep them safe, or he'll see them all die like he saw his father.
He can't let that happen again.
Just like when askellad killed bjorn
I think the most likely casualty of a confrontation now would be Thorfinn, not Einar. In his frail state, he's not likely to be doing crazy acrobatics to subdue anyone in this fight, and since he's sworn to find that first method, I think that might be his downfall. Einar, on the other hand, shows a lot o potential for a redemption arc and finding a new purpose... But I don't know, we're all shooting in the dark here. So many different hints that different people pick up from the smallest details, it's amazing. Will be crazy after the series is finished, looking back on how the end diverged from our predictions.
Saw retrospective when
broo im feeling like if the archers shoot arrows towards Big Knife guy, thorfinn will stand in between and have a very similar death to thors
There’s a part of me that saw the archers and also immediately thought of Thors 😬
Thorfinn has to surpass the father now
@magnificentbananabutter2475 We be praying hard, bro 😂
Is it really ending soon? No second confrontation with Garm? We won't see Thorkol again? Man that would suck.
Garm doesn't really have a place in the story anymore. Thorkell I'd like to see in the epilogue
Bro this isnt MCU where characters would pop out randomly
Fr a portal isn't gonna open and all the viking warriors jumpout and thorfinn says "birds assemble" lmao @@thorfinnthegoatmc
Totally random but does anyone wonder when and where Thorgill will rerurn? He walked off like a badass
He ain’t coming back in my opinion
should be backguards, manga in big, the dude talking in the back
Bland saga!!!
🤨
No
lol chill daddies it was a typo
