Smooth and mastered, but it still seems like it put up a fight. Thanks for showing that off! I have a whole pile of u9s I got from a Japanese auction, and I’ve found some mastered ones among the few I’ve dissected but none with smooth wafers so far.
Yah, the mastering didn't really play a role since I'm only picking to the first shearline except on the mastering with the wide gates. Those ones were much easier to jiggle test being in the true gate is all. From what I found, the smooth wafer ones all have the same back to them, with the solid slot across the back rather than it having the screws on the back of the plug.
@@norlin76 Thanks, I’ll dig through the pile and look. I think all of the ones I looked at in my box have the screws on the back, but I’m hopeful I’ll find some variety.
