It's my favorite place in the world. Fish, swim, beach comb, restaurants, a few cool bars, only 1 high rise condo. I'm from Mississippi and even our coast is crazy busy. When I need a real relaxing vacation, Dauphin Island is it.👍 Oh yeah, their campsite is great and the Two story Gulf Breeze Motel( only hotel or motel on the island) is SWEEEET.
It really is like like stepping back in time. Everything goes at a much slower pace. No crazy traffic or people everywhere. We love it here. Thanks so much for joining us. See you on the island! 😁

I can’t wait to get back out there and see all I missed while trucking all those years! Getting my fuel pump on Honey fixed and still waiting on my license plates to arrive, but, other than that I’m ready! Great video as always! Stay safe and God Bless! ~Jim~

We had actually gone to the mardi Gras parade that's on dauphin Island back when we lived in mobile. It was so cool. A family-friendly version of mardi gras. Small Town parades are the best.
Great video thank you! I saw comments about the pier. The water didn't recede. Dauphin Island is a barrier island. The sand shifted to that bit due to storms, tide and other factors as you stated. Other areas lost sand. Its always shifting. We walked several miles down Pelican Peninsula on the southern tip once, then the next year it was gone. Now it's Pelican Island. Yes the walk from that pier to the beach is a bit of a bear.

Best thing about Dauphin Island is it isnt over commercialized like Gulf Shores is. I remember back in the 80s when there were no huge condos on Gulf Shores. Now you can barely see the beach from the main road.
I remember back in the eighties when you could walk the beach and destin and there were no condos anywhere. I was so disappointed the last time I went there. Dolphin allen is the last place left where you can actually have beach walks without paying for parking. It's very sad. Do you go here often?
@RVAmerica maybe once or twice a year. Not as much over the last few years. We would go there probably once a month or so as kids. We live about 45mins away. I might head that way this weekend and check out the forts and ferry. But the heat may deter that

It's a cool little island. There is a lot to see and do there. Catching a moonpie is not something you get to do every day. Lol. Have a great weekend.
