“I can finally be myself, cause I don’t want to be myself.” One of my favorite Slipknot songs especially in a rainy car ride. Corey’s really shows how wide his vocal range is on this song.
Favorite Slipknot song, I’m hoping they play this one live someday. Btw fun fact that laughing in the middle section is sampled from one of their early shows of their first tour back in 1999, I believe it was Corey Taylor or Clown
I really love the different styles and paces this song has Corey sing in. It actually might be one of the most diverse songs of his in terms of range and delivery in general thinking about it. I at least can't recall him ever going as high and whatnot. The bridge (?) sort of parts at 4:50 and 7:46 that lead into the chorus are definitely my favorites in this song. They just got that trademark 'Corey' sound to them. Slipknot themselves unfortunately always kinda dismiss the album this song is from (AHIG) but for me at least it was actually the last one that I truly vibed with. Thanks for the fun reaction as always Kurtis! 😊🤘
Corey's got a 5 and a half octave range beaten only by Mike patton (In metal music at least). I love this song because it truly shows Corey's range and different techniques.
That “screeching” sound you hear at the end is the guitar, they’re doing a thing called dissonance notes. You play 2 notes on two different strings, that are only one note apart from each other so it creates weird eerie notes and noises. It’s the best way I can describe this.
Brooo please react to THIS COLD BLACK FROM AHIG, this is one of my favourites songs EVER please... Cheers from Peru:') i love you so much! And i so love slipknot saturdaaaaaaaaays:3
Cool reaction bro. What you were saying about knowing their style, maybe in retrospect, had you known how epic this band was, you may have wanted to go 'thru the ages'as it were and started from the start and progressed through the albums in order, then you see how much they've changed lyrically/playstyle as they've gotten older and bigger DEATH BECAUSE OF DEATH
I’ve actually never heard this song before. But when I was listening to this song I was thinking he should check out Bucket Head. His guitar solos are crazy.
Thanks again Kurtis. Again I beg of you to react to Apocalyptica ft. Corey Taylor - I'm not Jesus. Please man, you Will be amazed. Keep it up, we'll make a true maggot out of you yet. Greetings from The Netherlands.
Gehenna (you're pronouncing it correctly; the g is like "get," not like "gel") is the name of a place in Jerusalem that is biblically synonymous with Hell on Earth. In the stories of the Hebrew Bible, some bad s**t went down there. It's a telling song title...
For context, "Gehenna" in jewish theology is the place, in which your soul gets "cleansed" for up to 11 months based on how much you sinned, before you get reborn again, to try better in your next life. Judaism has no actual place like hell with "eternal" damnation. The cleansing process is described to be quite torturous to be confronted with all your mistakes that your soul has accumulated so far.
Gehenna is definitely One of their most underrated songs

Yeah the chorus is so catchy, that album is so underrated. Great reaction! You should react to Gematria from the same album.
Definitely an underrated song! One of the things I love most about Slipknot is that their music keeps you guessing!
"Gehenna" is hebrew for "hell". And it's pronounced Gehenna and not "Jehenna". I hope this helps.
It's not hell in Hebrew actually
@@t1ag217 Why leave us in a cliffhanger tho?
