I think the bear thing is more of an analogy not to be taken literally. The fact that a man would harm a woman being a conscientious person, who has the cognitive ability to detain themselves, and chose not to is more horrifying. A bear would attack you on instinct, it’s to defend themselves. When in society women are technically almost never a threat to men, there are some cases, but mostly never. They’re not a threat and they’d still hurt them.

Bears can and have attacked people simply because they can, it’s the nature of apex predators to hunt what they want to hunt, though granted most bear attacks are provoked in some capacity unprovoked attacks still do happen.
This is just my opinion but the whole debate topic is dumb and only serves to create more mutual animosity between men and women. Women pick the bear because men can be cruel and unpredictable while bears tend to avoid humans, which is true. Men disagree because no one likes to be called a potential rapist worse to interact with than a bear, which is not a wholly un-validated reason to be upset.

@@jadengalloway6003 yes I acknowledge that, I completely respect the line of reasoning to picking a bear over the man, my main takeaway of the entire debate though is that it’s ultimately non-constructive in the sense that while there are multiple potential perspectives, many of which hold weight, many of those perspectives are held by people who are too caught up in the “us vs them” mentality (I’m mostly speaking on the men’s side of things in that respect but some women too) to actually interact with each other in any constructive way yk

Nick is probably one of the best podcasters on youtube cuz even when the host brings up amazing questions he still finds a way to ask follow up questions that make them talk even longer and brings up different perspectives that make us see varying point of vues. His devil's advocate side makes the podcast so much more interesting. Y all r truly the best.
Just by hearing about that Asian girl who got held up and tortured for rejecting a dude, i'd rather a bear than a man in a heartbeat especially since that case is probably not the worst one out there.
the point is the worst thing a bear will do is end ur life, their is no other motive than food or protection.
