The fact that one of the first things Benoit said to Helen in their first meeting at the technical start of the case was "Miles Bron isn't an idiot", and he was *wrong*.
It wasn't really the mystery that made me like this more than Knives Out, although it was also well written, it was the fact that Rian Johnson doubled down on using the mystery genre as a medium to show that rich people are toxic and undeserving of their station. The story boils down to Miles the billionaire being the "glass onion", a thing that sounds fancy and like it would have a lot of layers, but in reality you can see right through it by design.

Agreed, they've been asked about the Musk connection and pointed out that the script was written back in 2011, with Miles representing a widely combined number of "tech illuminati" (as Norton refers to them).
It wasn't his fault that Musk stepped up to the plate to expose himself as an idiot at the same time that the movie came out exposing their tech billionaire character as an idiot. That's not something *they* could have planned when they wrote and shot it.

A small detail I love is when (I believe his name is) Lionel says “you didn’t burn it or anything?” Miles NEXT thing he does is grab the lighter and burn it, which just reenforces that legitimately nothing Miles does in this movie is his own idea or smart. Even when Benoit is talking to Helen about Andis death he says “no, he would be an idiot to try to kill her right after a public court case” and that’s exactly what he did

I love that Helen's rampage of breaking all the glass, ending with the Mona Lisa directly parallels Miles' Disruptor speech earlier in the movie, and I love that Darrol was purposefully made to seem like he'd be part of some kind of major twist, or maybe even the killer, but in keeping with the entire glass onion metaphor throughout the movie he really is just some guy that's having a rough time who's there but is not part of the murder mystery experience at all

I really clicked with Peg as well, but I think her lack of screen time was a deliberate commentary for Rian Johnson, just showing how little regard she gets from everybody else. I’ll copy/paste a comment I made to this very thing -
“One thing that should be mentioned - the main players’ relationship to Peg; the stressed out, overworked lackey of Birdie; the plain-Jane wallflower who always knows where the fire extinguishers are. She has obviously been to many of these events held by Miles, yet when she speaks to him directly, he can’t even remember her name. Everybody gets their own monogrammed glass with their favourite beverage - except Peg, who gets tossed a paper cup without even being acknowledged (side note - later on, she’s writing her name on that cup, as if she’s desperate to be like the entitled asshats around her.) She is one of the truly competent and efficient people in this film, but she’s not one of the rich ‘disruptors,’ so she never even gets heard. She obviously has enough influence over Birdie that Birdie feels the need to hide her emergency phone like a child, and can put her point to Birdie about the statement Miles wants her to sign concerning the sweatshops. Yet, in the end, her own employment and income is entirely dependent on Birdie being a beautiful idiot.
      I’m sure there’s a subtext there somewhere 😏.”

The "Dong" gets me more than I want to admit. I try to hold it in but have to answer back with my own "Dong" and also, if I were on the island, I would find ways to use it in a sentence as often as possible. "Meet me back here when the Dong Dongs"
"It takes three dongs to circle the island"
    Etc.

May the force be with you! ❤
Edit: Your laugh throughout this video is contagious and I love how you were absolutely predicting the entire plot but at the same time had no idea what was happening 😂
Also who invites random people to an island they don’t even own?, I wouldn’t go 😂🤣
Not the murder mystery starting out as a game, without a prize? And then turning into an actual murder this movie is almost like a comedy/escape room and I livecfor the twists and turns and jokes, AND THE ACTORS love them too, love the fashion in this movie I also think that the drink was obviously poisoned, I also hate the darkness so I would automatically die In this movie, I also love the flashbacks in this movie they always share the most story somehow.
The mons Lisa song in the end i absolutely love this sequel 🤣
Loved your reaction to this ❤

I assume you've since checked, but if not then for record yes, the initial shot showed Miles handing his glass directly to Duke. The audience are mostly distracted by Birdie(?) dancing in that dress. False memory for sure. Very clever. And watching some videos on clues and call backs you missed led me to like it even more. There's so much nuance (just for eg, the Rothko painting in the background is hung upside-down). I still like Knives Out slightly more, but it's a close call.

So, if you’re into murder mysteries, and have a PC capable of handling the low requirements, you should look into playing Danganronpa.
Its a 3 game series, each one with a different cast of 15/16/16 students who are trapped in a setting (school/island/school), and told the only way they can leave is if they kill another classmate and get away with it. After a murder occurs, there is a period of time given the player to do an investigation into the murder, and when the player collects all the clues, an announcement will tell everyone to proceed to the class trial. At the class trial, you present evidence and poke holes in peoples arguments to try and ascertain who the killer is. At the end of the class trial, the remaining students will vote on who the killer is. If they vote correctly, the killer, and only the killer, gets executed. However, if they vote incorrectly, not only does the killer get to leave, but everyone besides the killer gets executed.
Definitely something to keep in mind as far as murder mystery content goes.

    A point of fact
Glass Onion is also a Beatles song that they wrote as a means to give a middle finger to the people who overanalyzed their songs for the meaning as if it was some complex and or intellectual pandering
the glass Onion song basically stands for the fact that usually the simplest and general interpretation is the right one
This is brilliant because Miles Bron likes the Glass onion because he thinks it stands for something intellectually inspiring when it’s just a see through bit of glass where you see the meaning right away
the simplest interpretation is the usually the true one

The movie is amazing, close to the previous but also quite different. I can see whatever Rian Johnson is figuring out right now, for the next one, and the n versions he'll write and direct. The movie is really outstanding for all! Yeah, the first one was a masterpiece because it opened that door, but this one is really close to it too. I need more from him, he's a genius and knows how to delivery well, besides, he's really nice too, he's done some Vanity Fair's special break downs and he really seems friendly and kind, but also knows what he wants from each sequence.
Love your video too, greetings from Colombia ;)

The only guns that don’t function after being exposed to water are black powder guns, in most guns the gun powder is encased in the in the shell with the bullet which is water tight

With the gun thing, that used to be the case with very old firearms, but modern sealed cartridges and even early cartridges can survive being in water for at least some amount of time and still fire consistently. Some firearms have trouble working when wet, but that just means they're unreliable by modern standards. A lot of guns are popular because of how dirty they are. AKs are as popular as they are because they're cheap and you can literally dunk them in mud and they'll still work.
