    Would love to see your reaction to either "Father" live or "Anyone" live at the Grammys by Demi, who just slays them both. Father was written about their Dad after he passed (not a good influence in their life) & Anyone was written shortly before the overdose. Both very powerful songs!

    This song is emotional for her to sing... the cracking and imperfections are her emotions bleeding through into her singing.

    No. Nevermind the studio performance. If you want to hear her do a perfect rendition. Please react to it or watch her sing this LIVE at Billboard’s Women in Music. I’m sorry this is the version you reacted to because it does not show her voice off. She made stylistic choices because she was sick during that performance. I remember it specifically. I give her mad love for even trying it when her vocals aren’t going to be great and she knows it.
    I beg of you to please react to “Anyone” live at the Grammy’s. It was her first time singing since she almost died from an overdose. It’s beyond incredible.

      I never understood why people like to point out when people want to point out someone isn’t the best when the person they’re critiquing is clearly above the threshold of “on another level.” It’s a bit like saying “there are people richer than Warren Buffett.” I mean, sure, but it feels a bit silly to look at it that way.

    • @watdaforkman4436

      Exactly and I feel like Demi's deliverance of this song will be better than anyone else who covers it, even if they are technically "better" than her. Her emotion and connection with this song is the only reason I fck w it.

  • @CatSamurai99
    @CatSamurai99 2 ปีที่แล้ว +27

    The emotion. The emotion in this performance. Made me cry. Again. I've seen this a few times. The "imperfections in this...are because of the emotion. She is supposed to be on the verge of crying.

    Iv never been the biggest fan of of Demi Lovato but that was because i thought she was this Disney singing girl..
    I heard Stone cold for the forst time and i loved it (live in studio ) she absolutely kills that..
    So I've heard "better" versions of the song where the singer sings it more perfect on pitch and that. For example Morissettes version is crazy good but i prefer Demi's version because of the emotions and how she sings the song. The way she portray the message of the song is like she lived it..
    I definitely recommend listening to the live in studio version of this song. She absolutely murders it. Tbh this is the first time I've heard this and i know she can do better than this and honestly wasn't the biggest fan of this.. Even tho it was really good..

    I know it's different and new, and will take some time to get used to it, but I highly encourage you to use their proper pronouns. You don't need to agree with them (though idk why you would knowing hold hate towards a person's identity), but it's honestly not to big of an ask to offer respect of a person's pronouns. If you have no problem using a woman's new last name after getting married instead of her maiden name, you should be OK with offering the respect of their pronouns of they/them; not she/her.

      @@andrewthornton2884 You can’t compel speech, and you can’t choose your own pronouns. They’re what other people use to describe you, and they’re based on sex, not how you feel inside. It’s kinda disrespectful to demand that everyone cater to your preferences and deny their instincts so you can control how they speak. That’s not how life works

    • @andrewthornton2884
      @andrewthornton2884 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ohwellwhateverr What nonsense. We choose what we want people to call us all the time. You can literally legally change your name for any reason you want. The most common reason being that women often do so after getting married, but that's far from the only reason. You wouldn't continue insisting on calling someone who got married their maiden name. If you did, after they had informed you that was no longer their name and they didn't like you calling them it, we'd consider you a giant jerk.
      Of course you can't compel speech. Legally you have a right to call someone something they don't like being called as long as it isn't defamatory. That doesn't mean you aren't a giant jerk for doing so. Most people try not to be giant jerks. Others lean right into being one.
      There's nothing disrespectful about asking someone to call you things that make you comfortable. What's disrespectful is continuing to call people things you know they aren't comfortable with after you've been informed they don't like it and they've told you what they prefer.
      As for pronouns being based on sex, that's just as laughable. Unless you're doing DNA tests on everyone you meet on the street, you don't know anyone's sex. You know their gender, the way they present themselves and you perceive them. Which is probably good, because with studies showing around 1.7% of people are intersex (as in, not purely XX or XY), many with minor variations they'll literally never know about unless they get a gene sequencing that most people never have a reason to get, there's a whole lot of people you'd be calling the wrong thing otherwise.
