That young man who saved 3 young ladies is a true hero. It would be interesting to know what became of him after this show. That twist having Dad, Mom, and son as imposters is what makes TTTT a fun show to watch even after 60 years from the original airing. Thanks for the video. Gil Hodges was one of the finest men to play and manage in baseball. He died much too young.

Regarding "The Teacher of the Year," it's no surprise to me that that none of them knew about someone name "Froybel." The man who coined the name "Kindergarten" was Friedrich Fröbel., and the vowel in his last name is pronounced more like the "ir" in "bird," than "oy" in "joy." Sam Levenson may have been a former Spanish teacher--but his knowledge of German phonology left something to be desired!

I would have thought there would be a national system in place for honouring members of the public for such courageous acts as that carried out by the boy.

He was pushy and arrogant in that first game. Just as well the fireworks guy could deal with it ok. Also glad he wasn't a regular panellist.

I got the second and third. I thought the real fireworks guy tanked and acted like he did not know things he did. I agreed with Dina that the boy’s name was southern, and I had no doubt number 1 was really from Little Rock. On the third one, number 2 had a couple of wrong answers (like thesis was called early childhood education) and number 1 had steady answers. I love playing this game.

#2 in the first game didn't play the game fair. He's supposed to tell the truth. Even though he said they don't use them, in his line of work he still damn well knows what a cherry bomb is. Booooo on him. And yes, I agree with other comments here, Levenson was obnoxious and not funny.

I always liked Sam Levenson, but on this show he was rather annoying. He tried too hard to be the center of attention. Not sure why. Maybe because he so rarely appeared as a guest panelist, but he bordered on being down right obnoxious.

Art Briese mentioned that he would be providing the fireworks for the annual 4th of July celebration at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. That would occur right in the middle of the baseball season. The Los Angeles Dodgers (including the father of one of the impostors in game 2, Gil Hodges Sr.) played their home games at the Coliseum from 1958-1961. I checked on their schedule around the 4th of July for those four seasons.
1958 - Played a Thursday night doubleheader at the Coliseum against the Cardinals on 7/3. Since the Dodgers rarely got rained out in L.A. and not at all for their early years there, this was a regularly scheduled doubleheader, not a make up. On 7/4 they did not play. On Sat. 7/5, they played against the Cubs at the Coliseum.
1959 - The Dodgers played back to back doubleheaders against the Cubs in Chicago at Wrigley Field on Sat. 7/4 and Sun. 7/5. (One of those was likely a makeup of the opening day game that was snowed out.)
1960 - Played a one day, two game series in St. Louis with a Monday doubleheader on 7/4. This followed a three game series in Pittsburgh on the Independence Day weekend and preceded a 2-game series in L.A. against the Giants on 7/5 and 7/6.
1961 - One day after this episode aired, the Dodgers played the second game of a 2-game series in Milwaukee on a Tuesday. The Dodgers scored six runs in the first inning and held on to win 6-5. Gil Hodges Sr. walked to force in a run and later scored in the Dodgers first inning outburst.
(In 1962, the Dodgers played at home on Independence Day for the first time since 1957 when they were still in Brooklyn.)

I always wondered about that myself. For a long time, I wondered if a Christian going on this show, if it would be considered lying or fun?
Sin is sin and lying is sin which is why I always said I'd never do this show, but then I thought about it and I thought, "Well God knows what my motives would be for not telling the truth." It IS a game show that's geared toward that, but my soul is too important to even take the CHANCE, and I've just always wondered if going on this show was lying or just having fun (I STILL don't know, and since there's no WAY of knowing, I still wouldn't take the chance)

I sympathize with your scruples, but I'm sure a little logical thought and a good dose of prayer would allay them. After all, if we were to apply your stringent standards across the board, the professions of acting, fiction writing and moviemaking would vanish utterly.
