Was on another channel where a brotha asked which was the better group, Gangstarr or Pete Rock and CL Smooth? Love both groups but I'm a EPMD man myself. 🤔 With Large Pro, Primo, Pete Rock, Q-Tip, and L.E.S. doing production on Illmatic, I wonder why Erick Sermon never was put on production for "Illmatic"? Regardless, Large Professor produced two of my favorite tracks from "Illmatic" which are "Halftime" and "It Ain't Hard To Tell". Large Pro, Primo, Pete Rock, Q-Tip, Erick Sermon, RZA, Da Beatminerz, and Havoc were all instrumental in the sound of the "Golden Era".
