This channel has never had excellent cinematography, but goddamn that intro was beautiful!
Overall this was just a really well composed video actually.
I'd say he has always had extremely good cinematography , even if you check out his reviews from a year ago or so he does similar intros. I think the main thing is he has has added a lot of vlog content to the channel and it took away from the professionalism it used to have.
I get the feeling he's getting some help. He's also showing more emotion in the reviews here which seems important for car reviews...

I bought the E63S. Love the car. So much raw power and torque. The AWD system makes a huge difference off the line. He is right about how Merc does so well in making a very easy daily driven car, but can turn into a monster with the flip of a switch.
Before I watch I'm guessing the E63 will be the better one

M5, without a doubt. You can still buy it as a manual, for now at least, and it'll outhandle an AMG any day.

***** Formula 1 cars have almost nothing to do with street cars. They're way lighter and have race-tuned engines, plus an entirely different suspension setup.

For me the e63 is the better car. I would take it just for the interior which i love by mercedes, also the sound is fuckin awesome and it looks gorgeous.
The interior sadly looks really dated on the Mercedes now compared to the current models while the bmw still looks ok

I'd definitely like to hear that. The only AMG GT I've ever seen/heard in person sounded just as wet-slappy as this video does and I was NOT impressed by the sound in the slightest.

Anyway, why do I keep seeing comparisons between the AMG S, which is the "top" and the "normal" BMW M5 without the Comp. Package, that would be fairer in my opinion.
Perhaps that's the only way the Merc can stand a chance? :-P

I actually have an f10 525 d and its a very good drive and fast has well. Love the design on it. The one thing a car has to do, in my view, is leaving the car and looking at it,thinking, do I own this, wow im so lucky! Cool vids, keep up man.

Great review! Returning to your channel after a long time and glad that I'm back with this video. As for the cars, in my opinion, the E63 has more class and elegance. You can arrive to an office meeting in this and people won't think you're a douchbag. The E63 is biased towards an older audience while the M5 is aimed at the younger guys. Its really hard for me to pick between these.
But I will say, that is one awesome looking M5! The first one I've seen in matte orange. Looks perfect!

Video was great until you said the BMW is a better car. What the fuck? Before that sentence you listed all the reasons why the Mercedes was an all around "better" and more usable car. Then you say the M5 is a better car.
The M5 will NEVER have luxury. It literally is, and only is, a sports car. The E63 looks like a luxury and sports car especially with those red brakes. The M5 wins for sporty experience, yes, but the all around better car is the E63.

1. Only two 4 door cars have ever gone under the 3 minute mark at VIR. They are the Cadillac CTS-V and the Cadillac ATS-V. Not the RS7. And not any 4 door Mercedes, not the M5, not the E63. not the RS3, RS4, RS6 or RS7.
2. The CTS-V has more horsepower than the RS7.
3. The CTS-V has more torque than then RS7
4. The CTS-V WEIGHS LESS than the RS7. By a LOT.
So which laws pf physics are you planning on breaking in order to beat the CTS-V with an RS7? Because it's not going to happen on this planet. The CTS-V is the fastest, highest performance 4 door production car on the planet.

Nah my M5 will shit all over that. It's not stock.
You're a dumb ass, the E63 is much faster. The CTS-V runs 60 in 3.7 seconds. The E63 S runs 3.2, I know, I own an E63 S. Like the M5, the CTS-V is quicker on a roll but looses from 0-130, 0-60, 1/4 mile, and handling. The suspension is nuts in this car and I'll run circles around it with the AWD.
Any chance you'll do instrumented testing? I value your opinions on cars but numbers would make it easier for your viewers and me to quantify.

I like this because you talk honestly compared to other robotic channels but also include that the quality of new cars especially interiors are much cheaper than in older cars. The quality was much better in older cars also in your bmw e39 the leather, the plastic and everything were better and also built better at those times in germany

Fellow M5 owner here. I don't think your heart was in that final decision. You wanted that E63 and you know it. Honestly, I wanted to LOVE the F10. I was super excited when it came out. But BMW just didn't hit the homerun I was hoping for. They got a close second base run. The smaller capacity V8 was probably surrounded by some economy scheme.. the exhaust issue more to blame by the "hot vee" setup than anything. It really screams EFFICIENCY. But at the same time, the AMG just doesn't have to try as hard to be more exciting. If the only knock I can really come up with is that it's AWD, then I'd say Merc has really, REALLY stepped up their game. Early 2000's was a dark era for the Three Pointed Star. But they've come full circle, and it's almost like the geek that no one wanted to hang out with has been hitting the gym and preparing for the high school reunion.. In spades..
