An IFA L60 from Leipzig at Lidl in Vaasa! | Finland 2021

We met a family from Finland who are traveling to Vaasa from Leipzig with their IFA L60 motorhome. Unbelievable! The L60 is an IFA brand truck. It was built from 1987 to 1990 by VEB Automobilwerke Ludwigsfelde with a total of 20,289 vehicles. The L stands for Ludwigsfelde, the 60 stands for 60 deciton payload = 6 tons.
Today, the W50 is not nearly as popular in Germany as its predecessor, the W50, because the technology is more complex and it is more difficult to obtain spare parts. This was achieved by using a six-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 9.6 liters without exhaust gas turbocharging. Later there was also a turbo version with 225 hp. In practice, the consumption of the L60 is generally well above 20 liters of diesel fuel per 100 km and was therefore no less than that of the underpowered W50. The two axles were also new. Planetary gears were used here for the first time. The differential gears were 100% lockable on the majority of all-wheel drive models built.

2015 hab ich den Laster in Bad Kissingen gesehen und mit dem Besitzer einen detaillierten Rundgang gemacht.(Ich war der mit dem UAZ 469...damals grad neu aufgebaut 😄) Er hat sich wirklich sehr viel Mühe gemacht, mit Einrichtung und Technik. Sehr schön ihn auf diesem Wege wenigstens mal wieder zu sehen. Allzeit gute Fahrt. Und! Wer IFA fährt,fährt nie verkehrt!!!

Hallo, auch wenn der Beitrag schon ein paar Tage her ist. Ich wollte fragen, ob man den Kontakt zum Eigentümer des L60 herstellen kann. Mich würde die Möglichkeit für 4 Personen im Fahrerhaus sehr interessieren.
