    My newest upgrade to the Hilux is a suspension kit. I replaced the OEM suspension with Terrain Tamer suspension kit. This higher-rated suspension works with the help of Smart Coils in the front and Parabolic Leaf Springs in the rear.
    I have done a good few miles on this suspension and I am pleased with it. It does ride a little harder than it should for now, but that is because it is rated for more weight. We have pre-setup my suspension for all the modifications (weight) I still need to add, then I don't need to replace the suspension again and it will take the extra weight with ease. I have tested it over many terrain types and put it to proper testing on some rough 4x4 routes and it just sucks up all the bumps and knocks!
    Terrain Tamer is an Australian-based company with a branch down here in Cape Town. You can order many mechanical parts from them for Toyota. If they don't have it in stock then they will bring it in for you and they distribute it over Southern Africa.
    Thank you to Michael, Uwe and Johann for installing the suspension for me!

    Awesome . I have been using OME BP-51 suspension . I believe I was the first Australian Hilux to use this system and while there were some small issues at the start they are now top notch . I do like the terrain tamer gear as well and look forward to trying the parabolics on the rear with the OME BP-51 bypass shocks .

      Nice! Let me know what you think of the parabolics when you instill them. On paper it makes so much sense and so far it's proving well worth it!

    The bakkie looks good! Where in the Cape Town area did you have this fitted as I am also in the market for an aftermarket suspension and like what I am seeing from Terrain Tamer!

    Hey Dieter Hilux looks great how much lift does it have and what size tyres do you have on?

    • @DieterPey
      @DieterPey  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks! It should be close to a 4" lift. Tires are 265/70/R17

    Debating what to fit on a Prado 120 given budget as well as performance. Have looked a little at Raw4x4 and OME costing thus far.

      Get a quote from Terrain Tamer and check the specs vs pricing. They are very helpful and they have a branch close to Kuilsrivier side.
