Excellent tutorial. I have an hour-long still image with music but I wanted to make a light move slowly across the image and pass behind a building. I tried Magic Mask on the first frame and then tracked it forward. Over 3 hours later I got an error,. Turns out that Davinci had used 700GB of HD space, left me with 1.6GB and crashed my computer. Does that sound right or should I look at changing some settings (Davinci 18.6. MBP Apple M1 Max, 2TB SSD, 64 GB RAM)?

Thanks Joris, learned a lot from you, teach us the titles you use in your videos, they look awesome, I know we can create these with Text+, but there must be some way to set a template and change the text to get same result always, please consider this.

1. there is a circle with color at the top right of most DR screens, but it is very visible on the edit page. clicking that color circle icon toggles off all your effects. 2. In the color page there is a dedicated sky replacement node effect. I don't k kw off the top of my head if you need to track the sky before using it, but there are a lot of tutorials on it here
it may slow your system, depending on what you're doing and your fusion cache settings. I haven't refined my settings around magic mask, so I do experience slows with clips of excess of 5 seconds

i am having trouble with magic mask following the track on 100fps of a dancer in slow motion , the subject is well lit in a large hall and after falling all steps it simply refuses fully cut out, when i add text behind the dancer it goes transparent in sections , anmy thoughts guys ?
When I do the text behind subject and I want to make a compound clip the text is in front of the subject again. Is it not possible to make a compound clip with this effect or is there a workaround?

The resolution/size of your screen decides a lot of the layout. When I was editing on my 13" MacBook Pro, the wheels also looked smaller/different. Now, I'm editing on a 27" 4K monitor.

I have a 32gb gaming with an rtx4090 graphics card. The features such as magic mask and the face swap feature don't really work good at all.

Is it also possible to magic mask a subject, cut out the background, relight the subject, and export the video with an alpha channel?
I did everything in the color page, but when I turn off the other layer the mask hasnt translated to the edit page.

I tried to mask 2 people but when done my frame rate drops between 6 and 15 fps for that clip. Why?
