I always really like to put my pannenkoekenplant cuttings in a tiny glass of water before putting it in the earth, this way the roots have a chance to grow a bit longer first. Also, I refresh the water every couple of days :) But even then, sometimes the cuttings just don't take... it's tough being a plant mom haha
the moment my motherplant starts producing baby's again, i'll try it in the water!
@@Leonie_Christel I think also that the cups/bowls you pot in have no drainage could be killing the plants. You need something with a drainage hole. Hope that helps!
I've felt that cuttings like it better when you put them in water first so they can grow some more roots. Also, definitely plant them in a pot that has a hole for drainage at the bottom and choose a pot that's not too big for them at first! like, for the little pilea plant I think something like 5-6cm in diameter might've been better :) but, as someone else pointed out already, sometimes they just don't make it, it happens!

You have to wash fruits and vegetables immediatly. The fruitfly eggs often come from early on in the stores with them.
I love how you managed to make a super cozy vlog even in the summer! Just shows those cozy autumn vibes can be achieved even when it is hot (I'm the same, I do like the sunshine and have trained myself to appreciate it, but will always be an autumn girl at heart) Anyway, loved the voice overs too!
you showing your struggles with keeping plants alive makes me feel so seen and a lot less embarassed tbh... thank you!
One tip when taking cuttings and putting them in vases is to put a see-through plastic bag over it. 😊 You can also spray the inside of the bag with a bit of water to keep the humidity high, and to keep the plants leafs from drying out. When a plant has been cut and separated from its established root system, a lot of its energy goes into developing new roots, but it's also much less resilient to its usual external factors like strong sunlight, draft (airflow) or higher/lower temperatures. It looks like your begonia couldn't handle drying out in the sun.

Recut the begonia, put in clear water glass with a few drops of rooting liquid. keep somewhere with lots of diffused light that isn't too cold. That should work wonders!
What a beautiful and calming vlog. I like the both voice over and music montage.
fruit flies live in the top layer of the dirt in your plants. If you get some small pebbles/rocks to cover the top layer, it will significantly reduce the number of fruit flies.. Also Ive tried sprinkling cinnamon over the top layer of dirt and that helps too. 🪴

I had a stressful day and finally got to sit down with a vegan cinnamon roll and a new Leonie vlog - most relaxing thing I could ask for!
Leonie, ive also had a really bad investigation of fruit flies, and nothing worked until I bought vanilla bean oil for my diffuser and haven’t seen them since. I really recommend just trying it, putting on the diffuser with the oil, window closed for a day or two
vlogs are always so fun! it's such a fun diary as well. I love the style that you did, the voice overs and the music for the montages both worked well. i think this was balanced out well!!
When I saw the thrifted books 📚 I thought ahhh collage fodder. LIVE MUSIC venue is where I volunteered and shot photos 🎸 that begonia (polka dot) is delicate. I also work from home and looking at screens all day, and it's so important to have this moment of transition between work and other stuff. I usually follow some workout routine on TH-cam or do some yoga and it's great. I recently bought some coloring books, so I'll try to add this moment of listening to music and coloring a little bit.

Ik vind in het donker lopen ook altijd leuk want dan kun je bij mensen naar binnen kijken! Maar Misschien is dat meer in de winter als de gordijnen nog open zijn... Maar een goede motivatie om avondwandelingen te maken ook als het eerder donker wordt. :)

Just came across your channel and enjoyed watching , I love the variety . FYI I had that "fruitfly" problem a while ago and after a bit of research because it got worse 😖 by the day I learned they come enjoy your fruit BUT they survive / reproduce in potting soil 🥴so indeed I found them living in the soil of my plants 😲the only thing you need to do is to remove the potting soil from the plant and submerge the roots in water and replant in fresh potting soil , yes I know it is a bit of work but once I've done that they were finally gone and best is not to give too much water so the soil is not too wet , I hope this will solve this really annoying inconvenience , good luck 🍀

Buy yourself some rooting hormone, dip your cuttings in it, and then you can stick it in water to propagate, or soil. Remember to change the water once a week.
I also made collages recently! I found a book about mushrooms that had amazing pictures in it and I made 6 collages with that. It was a small book as well, so I was surprised at how much I could get out of it

that begonia is hell to keep alive, it needs a lot of humidity! pancake plant maybe wouldd have rooted better in water, but to me that one is difficult as well, just try again some other time :)

Maybe theyre fungus gnats? They lay eggs in the top 2 inches of wet soil. Cover the top of the plants with sand and bottom water from now on. Bottom watering is much easier if you keep the plants in the plastic sleeves and just put those in nice pots. Youre also less likely to get root rot that way.
I think with the cuttings, the 1st one maybe didnt have a node to grow roots. The 2nd one i think the roots were too little and that was too much soil, they couldnt get enough oxygen. Water roots can find it hard to change to soil roots, so its best to have as many strong water roots as possible so at least some will surrvive when you plant it.
Also some plants just dont propogate, you can google if yours does and if so, how

Op het moment ben ik ook zo bezig met routines, gelukkig zijn er meer people deze zomer ermee bezig. Voelt wat gek in de 'leegte' van weinig verplichtingen. Ik heb het idee dat we vriendinnen zouden kunnen zijn haha dezelfde interesses, aesthetic en karaktertrekken??
