@@KnittyNatty my friend knits and told me I should learn so I can be "bi-stitchual." 😂 I really want to knit socks but that's all I have the urge for right now. Is it possible to learn to knit with socks or do I need to start with a scarf or something? On that same note, would your sock course be good for a beginner like me? (I did learn to knit in middle school and I made a scarf, but that's the extent of my knitting experience.)
It was so interesting to see all of your current WIPS! Btw I loved ur live recently, it was great, and thank you so much for answering my questions and responding to my comments, you can definitely pronounce Hertfordshire now! 😂🤩❤ Also - I am more focused on crochet - and your granny stripe blanket is absolutely gorgeous! xx
I knit socks but have always done top down on 9” circular’s, magic loop is just too much messing about but after watching your tip on using 2 needles that you used to do your cable hats I’m currently doing my first pair of toe up , using this technique and I’m really enjoying it ❤️
I had to giggle at “had to introvert really hard,” because that’s how I feel every day after work. I work at a university and talk to students and other employees all day so when I get home I really need that recharge time!
I love that you're talking about using your stash and being addicted to moving through it. I FEEL THE SAME WAY!!! It's just so many skeins in my case, sadly. LOL. With my left over yarn, I've been making pom poms and tassels. I'm hopefully going to have enough for a pom pom garland at the end of the year, and I'm going to use the tassels for gifts :) all the best! Kimberly
I get why people would want to knit over their ends, but for me that just seems like so much more work. I’m just going to stick with weaving them in, haha.
I just started "reading" (audio books) the Maggie Sefton books- When you're done with those I really like the Vampire Knitting Club by Nancy Warren they're in the same category of campy murder mysteries
Hi Natalie! Thank you for another lovely episode. I only now understand the importance of writing a comment and liking videos after I started my own podcast this year. Thank you for always bringing a smile to my face. I really enjoy your podcast. Have not watched all the episodes - started somewhere around 60 or so watching every week and then started at 1 - somewhere in the 30s. My favourite episode is the one where Toaster got into the pink Mohair. I LOVE that intro. So funny. Mariette.
Enjoyed catching up and seeing what tire working on. Love the cowl, such pretty color work. I was impressed with the tip about knitting over your ends that you shared the other day. That really is a useful skill to learn. Congrats again on your lovely sock pattern release!! I can totally relate to the “had to introvert very hard”!!! 🤗💕🤗
I’ve been inspired by you to work my stash down. I’m starting slow, if I get rid of all the cotton this year I’ll consider that a win. Thanks for mentioning the Perfectionist podcast. It’s been a help to me.
That looks like the 21 beanies that I knitted for Christmas gifts. I made my pattern up-and used sock yarn. I have been getting raves on them. My decrease method was easy-I knitted 8-9 inches then did K2P2tog and knitted for another inch. Then did K2tog every round until I was down to a reasonable number and ran my yarn through my remaining stitches. They were for friends and family-many of whom are skiers, and campers. Up here in the Rocky Mtn north the hats are great for summer tent camping, and after ski, they sometimes even fit inside the helmets for during ski wear. Women love them to cover up helmet hair if they got to a ski lodge for an after ski drink or snack.
I watched The Woman In the house blah, blah, blah last Saturday morning and finished it all in one sitting. I did like it, I went into it knowing it was a spoof which helped.
LisaR - I fell in love with Sea-glass T when it first dropped . I thought it might be a bit too stiff of a fabric ....Seeing how yours knit up , It's just great 👍🏻! Sure your longer ends double knotted won't go anywhere- smart move ! If you want a bit of insurance for the ones cut shorter - there's something called "Fray check" that's sold in sewing dept / online too I'm sure . A tiny dab will keep those shorties put . It's washable , crystal clear drying . Tiny bottle lasts years . I prefer the little bottles than the tubes - since tubes are more like a glue consistency, bottles are more of a liquid . I put a needle nose tip on my bottle to get just the tiny neat amt . I've used it for 10+ years , never had to reapply or had it fail . Thanks for sharing your gorgeous T - helped so much in deciding I have to make it !
I really hope that in addition to highlighting smaller designers there will be an eye toward highlighting BIPOC designers. Many designers of color do not have a large following and being included in something like this would be good and important. Please use your platform to help others.
I totally have to introvert extra hard on the weekend to make up for the week at work. I am happy to be all caught up with your podcasts! I love Maggie Sefton's series, they are quick reads. Also, thanks for the recommendation on the Woman in the House show. It hooked me and I had to binge it all! What a twist at the end!! Do you think they will come up with more with the way they left it? Wow! 🧶🧶🧶
I also binged The Woman in the Window...I caught on right away that it was a total spoof maybe of a Lifetime type movie and laughed all the way through!
I learned that “ wips” apply to yarn projects and “ufos” apply to sewing projects. The distinction you made today makes these terms overlap. I love it. Thank you!
Winning takeaway from your recent videos. I can frog a colorwork hat 1/3 done and it was making me feel bad not working on it. Frogged it. Now happy! Thanks Natalie.
I watched that show last night! The one with the long title. Your thoughts are mine exactly, it was cringey but it was also very light and perfect for working on projects. Liked the ending, that made me happy
Here's something funny. My main language is French and, you know, when a language isn't your main, there are some nuances you're less aware of when you're not paying too much attention. Hands/ends was one example today. So here's what I heard : "So this is what you do when you have 2 hands, if you have cut one and then you're joining in another." Then I realized, with the joining thing, that the whole thing was about ENDS 🙃
I first heard of the distinction between WIPs and UFOs on the knittogetherwithkimandjonna channel. Not sure if that's where your other subscriber heard it, but they did a video on the topic a few weeks ago.
Question: I have a top down sweater that just does not fit properly....I spent a lot of money on the yarn and want to repurpose the yarn. How is the best way to unravel a sweater knit top down? Is it easier to unravel from bottom up or top down? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ty to Natalie or any of your viewers for help!
you can also catch the ends on your sea glass tee under the white bumps on the wrong side just so they aren't hanging completely loose
You are so welcome. We are happy to support you in any way we can.
You are the only knitter that I watch because I'm a crocheter. And it's wild to me the differences!
Aww well, I'm honored! I'll be bringing in some crochet next week! 🥳

Catching up with my friend Natalie after struggling with SAD in and Feb and I am so happy. ❤️🙏

I giggled at your comment because same, I advise students all day every day!

My favorite candy is raspberry filled hard candy usually only sold at Christmas. Another fun podcast.
Another great podcast. Can’t wait to meet you again.
I get why people would want to knit over their ends, but for me that just seems like so much more work. I’m just going to stick with weaving them in, haha.
Love the tutorial for knitting over the ends! So clever.

I've heard that series is great too! Probably my next one then 😁

Thank you so much! I'm looking forward to an introverted weekend too 😜
What a great tip. The video was fabulous and easy to follow. Thank you!
Oh gosh that sea glass tee is gorgeous!! I’m seeing so many being knit up! 😍
Thank you! Yes, it's getting really popular!
The Hoodie Shirt is amazing!
I’ve been inspired by you to work my stash down. I’m starting slow, if I get rid of all the cotton this year I’ll consider that a win. Thanks for mentioning the Perfectionist podcast. It’s been a help to me.
I’m a big introvert and I love to stay home too. I love your phrase “I had to introvert hard!”
Thanks for the knitting over ends tip! I’ve done that technique at the end but hadn’t seen it for the front end of the new yarn.
I love your knitting over tail videos. I just finished my first color
Work sweater and it’s just like trapping floats. Genius.
Yay!!!! 👏🏻👏🏻
I’m looking forward to your Perfect Fit sock classes. I’ve been knitting socks for about a year and ready to step up my game. Love your podcasts.

The fabric is still so flowy- I was surprised! I'm in love with my Sea Glass Tee!

Good for you! Haha maybe I'm just clueless then. I thought a few things were odd, but didn't see anything outright spoofy until the last episode 😅
I learned that “ wips” apply to yarn projects and “ufos” apply to sewing projects. The distinction you made today makes these terms overlap. I love it. Thank you!
Oooh okay. Yes, I like to understand how every interprets the words!
Thank you for the pattern Kent's hat - I am frogging a golden green sock to make a hat. :)
Winning takeaway from your recent videos. I can frog a colorwork hat 1/3 done and it was making me feel bad not working on it. Frogged it. Now happy! Thanks Natalie.

I really did enjoy it!
I gotta applaud you for making a BLANKET with fingering weight yarn I can’t imagine, that would take so long 😂😂😂 it looks gorgeous tho I love it!
Love watching you
Thanks for the tip Natalie! I can't wait to try it.
Can you turn your sweetheart sock into a beanie hat I would so buy it
Ooohhh that would be sooooo good!!
Hello from Mounds Illinois.
I love the cowl and the seaglass tee
Great episode! I love the sea glass tee, it is beautiful! I will have to try the knitting mystery books.
So sad, did not view your ep 128. I would like to participate in the prize. Love the hearts.

Love the sweater. Very beautiful.
Congrats to the Big D! Hahaha! I giggled every time you said their username 😂🤣
Me too because how can you not?! 😅😅

I’m reading the woman in the window now. Maybe I’ll watch the netflix spoof after 🤔
Do it!
Why are there limited spots in the Course if it is pre-recorded?
I feel for you and your dessire for more coffee!
Always more coffee haha
I was going to ask if the show had anything to do with the book “The Woman in the Window”. I guess that’s the book you said it was a spoof of
Ahh that must be it!
So good….

It’s much easier to undo from where you finished, ie from bottom to the top. Good luck
In regards to the knitting over ends- 🤯
I also hear - phd. Project half done. You can sounds all fancy by saying you are working on your PhD!
Hello Natalie
