Hey Tom, fairly new to the channel and a recent subscriber and must say love the content! Born and raised in East Hartford, CT and now living in New Hampshire, and an 80s/90s child, I completely love everything you post about! Keep up the great work :-) So much nostalgia in your videos.
@@fleabittenadventures you’re welcome! I’m not sure if The Time Machine Hobby store is still open in Manchester, CT not far from Buckland Hills Mall, but that is a really cool place!
@@fleabittenadventuresI'm from Connecticut too, I've been looking for a channel that does flea market/yard sale videos! Glad I found you! Just subbed!
Yes, I bought two huge glass display cases. They are currently still in their boxes on my living room floor.... They are going to take a long time to assemble!
5:43 the toy boxer on the left was on the cover of a 90's rock compilation DGC Rarities Vol. 1. It contained b-sides of bands like Nirvana, Weezer, Hole, Sonic Youth... I just happened to have bought the CD a couple of months ago at a swap meet. I saw the guy and it triggered my memory lol
Tom , The Kentucky derby glass is a 1978 . It sells around the $10.00 range . Anything 1973 and older is where the value increases . The glasses were produced before the race, so if you want to date a glass look at the last winner lister on the glass and add one year . The Bakelite cups and glasses from the 1930's and 1940's can sell for several thousand each .
At 3:25 the alarm clock may register on your Geiger counter as the paint on the hands and sometimes numbers glows under UV light. I read the paint has radium-226 in it.
Got a chuckle out of the commentary about storage space - I’m always bemoaning the lack of available shelving space at home for books - “collectors” of all things seem to have similar challenges
Ac Petersens in Simsbury closed in late 2003/early 2004. Good times 😢 I know another restaurant opened up there called Aladdin’s for a short while. The owner ended up taking his life.
At the middle school I teach in pencil sharpeners are bolted into the wall...its an older school, so I bet as time goes on the old school sharpeners will go away
Enjoy your flea market videos especially since you started taking a few more seconds at each table seeing what they have....next time you come across a coleman outdoor lamp for camping, use your geiger counter on the silk mantles that glows when you light them up..... it should peg your geiger counter because radioactive thorium is what makes them glow so brightly....all alpha and beta radiation no gamma but will definitely give you high readings....
I love the crocheted animals! They make me think of my beloved grandmother and her love for crocheting.
Same here! My grandmother used to crochet and knit stuff for us!

I would imagine you'll be hunting for more display cases if you keep buying more stuff. You were on a roll there. Some nice scores !😊

@fleabittenadventures
Do you have them filled before you assemble them? Lol
Years ago an old lunchbox without a thermos didn't really matter in collectability but nice to have.
It would feel incomplete to me without the Thermos, but that's just me.
Love the two old air travel bags
Yes! I was very interested in them, they were just a bit too pricey for me.

Really? I'll have to look that up! Thanks!
Loved the mini coke cooler radio
I must have missed that. Where was that?
Digger great buy and I haven’t got either of those coke mugs😉
I thought so! I'm very happy with the Digger!

Thanks for the info!
You’re probably right on those Coke mugs being relatively new, I got a similar set for Christmas a few years ago.
Yeah, pretty sure they're not old. Still cool, but I prefer to collect vintage stuff. Thanks!

You're right! I didn't even think of that! Next time!

Yeah, it's getting a bit out of hand. I feel like that Smithsonian with most of my collection in storage.

Really? It was open that long? I could have sworn it closed earlier than that! Wow! I don't remember Aladdin's at all.
Tom do you remember The Hobby store in Simsbury? Was where Maple Tree Cafe is now.
Yes, Vincent's Hobby Shop! That was one of my favorite stores back in the 80s! That and Leaders!

You are from Simsbury? I live in Simsbury. Cool
I'd love to hear your comments on the Ala Moana Center in Honolulu!
I would love to be able to get out to Hawaii, but it's just not in the cards right now. Way too expensive.

Really? I didn't know that! I'll try to check next time. Thanks.

Sure thing.
😮🤩 I have 😊one of these watch star wars from bk it in the tin Yoda one
They are cool! Now I have to find the rest in the set!
@fleabittenadventures yes ,good luck
20 a box for 92 Donruss is a good deal. The best i've seen those are $50 sealed.
I kind of assumed that era of cards wasn't worth much of anything.
20:18 These airline bags went way down in price and popularity. $30.00 is nuts for this !
Yes, they seemed priced a bit too high.... Really cool though!
some people think that Devil's Tower is petrified wood.
Yes, I've heard that theory, but I don't agree with it. Thanks for watching!
NES about 25 bucks untested
Yeah, $75 seemed too high for untested. Thanks!
4:25 AVOID these !! They are everywhere !!!!!
Yes, I've seen them a few times before, but they are fun to collect.
