Hershey's does have a large modern factory just to the west of the City of Hershey, PA, another production facility in Hazleton, PA and others scattered around the area. Not all their production moved overseas. Thankfully.

@@tomklock568 yep, they have quite a few American factories. They do manufacture overseas as well but usually for those foreign markets directly.
But Yes, there is a large Hershey factory just west of Hershey, PA.

@@frankcarey9567 well, I sortof know about Holmes, but what was the connection to Hershey? (Other than the timeframe?) I thought Holmes mostly just killed poor victims at his hotel?
HH Holmes preyed on the 1893 world's fair visitors making Hershey a potential victim of Holmes. That's the only connection which I might add isn't much of a connection obviously. It was more of a joke that Jacob made more than anything.
I toured this plant in 1975/6. I remember going, the smell of chocolate, touring the factory, this really huge Hershey bar that hung from the ceiling, & I'm so glad you got to see Hershey now. Wow! Did it change! Thank you!
One of my Favorite candy Bars is The KitKat bar. And I especially love eating it wrong and taking a big bite out of it. Partly because I’m strange I guess and Just Enjoy Eating it that way, but also I love how it makes everyone else in The Room Squirm with Discomfort. ^w^

Being an old timer, I loved the original ride and music. This can't compare with my memory.
We just went here a few weeks ago and had a blast. That dark ride was surprisingly so good. That was our favorite thing we went to when our family went there. We can’t wait to go back. Thanks foe taking us back.

Jacob, Hersheypark is my 80s era stomping grounds. They have a very old wooden rollercoaster!
It’s a shame that the factory doesn’t operate in the U.S. anymore. My kids enjoyed it, but I was a bit disappointed when I went there and found out that we weren’t doing an actual tour of a working facility.
The Hershey's Chocolate World reminds me of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory.
Speaking of Hershey, Milton Hershey reminds me of Willy Wonka.
Storm Man - Ha! Good comparison. It would be neat if they had a proper museum as part of the complex. The history of the company is really interesting. Still a fun place to visit with the kids though.

Most people look up to Milton Hershey instead of Willy Wonka, because Willy Wonka was our childhood movie hero while Milton on the other hand is our hero to keep Hershey chocolates on/in a perfect condition. If it weren't for Milton, Hershey's wouldn't exist.

Been there a couple of times. Awesome place and awesome show dude. But not true about all operations are overseas. While it's true that Hershey's is an international corporation with production all around the world. They still have a huge plant right down the street from the park that is still in operation as well as Reese's plant close by.
Yes, and the town smells like chocolate because of that plant!

I love going to Hershey Park, it's like Magic Kingdom, except candy themed lol. Haven't been there in a few years, I know they just opened up a new section, plus they have a water Park and super fun rides. Did you know, they the Hershey Chocolate Tour is the only omnimover ride, that's outside of a Disney Park?!?!? You should definitely go to the park when it opens back up, I think you would have a blast!!

You should visit Hersheypark during the winter when they are set up for their "Christmas Candylane" event. They put up so many lights and make everything Christmas themed. It's a really neat event, and well done I think. Even the carousel ride plays Christmas music, which I thought was a nice touch.

I went there back in 2004, the new dark ride definitely looks a lot cooler but the older ride was more focused on education, you don't get as much information as you used to.

Definitely recommend going back to Hersheypark! They're open the next few weekends for their Halloween season, "Hersheypark After Dark". I'll be there this weekend running the Hershey Half Marathon, can't wait!

Hershey park is a blast! I’m from Frederick Md not too far from Hershey and went there every year for 40 years 😁 Then moved to Florida. This video made me miss Hershey even though I go to Disney every weekend. Thanks for the memories!!

Hershey Park is an amazing park with tons of roller coasters and water park too. Also free admission to ZooNorthAmerica with theme park admission. You should definitely go!!
We went to Hersheypark a few times as kids because we Live up in New Hampshire. We used to go to chocolate world to go take the dark ride Tour and buy but loads of candy on the first day and then go to Hersheypark all day the second day. Hersheypark is one of the best amusement parks there is
Looks like Cupcake's animatronic wasn't working correctly. I love how campy this ride is. It has similar vibes to Journey Into Imagination at Disney, in my opinion.
Yes you should go to Hershey Park if you have the opportunity.
While you were in PA you should've come a few hours north and gone to the PA Grand Canyon. It's beautiful this time of year with the leaves changing. People come on buses from all over. Plus the towns of Wellsboro and Mansfield are awesome small towns to visit. The first night football game with lights was played in Mansfield.

Yes Jacob go back next summer. They are opening their new entrance and theme area Chocolate Towne featuring their new rollercoaster. It will be their tallest and fastest coaster.

I gave a British friend a Hershey's bar one time and he said it tasted like war ration chocolate. I don't think you're missing out, Cadbury's is much better and I know the British take their tea and chocolate seriously:)
You aren’t missing out at all. American chocolate has been ranked pretty much the worst. I’ve had British, Canadian, Australian, and Japanese chocolate. I completely agree that Hershey’s is some of the worst.
My father has a friend from Kent. He came over here and said that he wanted a Hershey bar. I was rather surprised at that. I had always assumed that Hershey was pretty much a worldwide market.
Carpetbagger roasting on a chocolate dark ride
It's been a LONG time since I've been on that tour. The last time I did the tour they had NO Animatronics/No video animation of the Mascots and the info that you were reading was part of the ride. Diffidently they made major upgrades since I was there as a young teen. Also at the end you got a Kiss candy (because near the end of the ride that is what you saw being made, also explained how the name came to being).
Strange as this sounds, KitKats are manufactured by rival company Nestles (everyplace else in the world outside of the United States) so that might explain why they don't feature the Japanese flavors. In the U.S. Hersheys subdivision makes the candy.
the animatronic cows were oddly amusing. as for the mashed potato flavored kit kat, I wonder if the other half tastes like gravy?, lol! that place is a toothache waiting to happen, lol..

Those HUGE Kit Kat bars you showed towards the end, it isn’t one HUGE candy bar. It’s a box full of the snack sized bars. My daughter got one for Christmas last year. I love going to Hershey. The amusement park is worth the trip too. I’m like 2 hours from Hershey.

Yes of course you should go to Hershey Park. Also don't miss Dorney Park over in Allentown(the one Billy Joel sang about) and next summer TH-cam gotta hit wildwood for a day or two. You missed so much last time.
I have to say, I miss the original ride...the way it was before the robot that also got dismantled shortly after. After that, it seems they change things every now and then, which I understand but don’t like. There’s nothing happy about being excited to see the favorite part of a ride and when on it find out it’s gone. At least they’ve always kept the roasting oven. As a small child that scared me!
Yes Jacob, you should see the park! Zoo America, right next door, is fun as well. ...and if I could throw in another nearby animal attraction, in Halifax there is Lake Tobias! Go on the safari ride...OMG!

Nestle owns KitKat in Japan and Hershey owns it in the US. That's why they dont have the ones like green tea or red bean paste in Hershey that you can find in Japan. You can get them from the Japan Pavillion in EPCOT in Walt Disney Word.

Yep chocolate is still made in Hershey Pa down the road at West Hershey Pa though ALL Hershey’s miniatures are made in Mexico that were once made in Hershey

Can't believe they don't make chocolate in Hershey PA. They replaced all those high paying factory jobs with low paying tourism jobs. I bet the locals were fuming when that happened.

Took my children to Hershey’s many times decades ago, went through the factory went to the amusement park many times. Even stayed at their campground several times. Sorry to hear about their manufacturing going overseas. Unfortunately that’s the way of the world. The corporate world is sole less.
They actually manufacture plenty in hershey. They also have facilities all over the country. Yes they do have a lot of overseas production but it has not abandoned our country thankfully

I went to Japan and bought 20 different flavors of kit kats. They have 250 different flavors total in Japan.
Seems like they could have given a full size bar of chocolate after the tour. That snack size is a real teaser.

You were incorrect, Hersheys still produces their chocolate in Hershey. The factory is down the road. If you take the trolley tour you go right by it.
