Agreed, he was fantastic. Unfortunately, 4 months after shooting this performance he was involved in a tragic auto accident resulting in severe brain trauma. He was in a coma for weeks, and 11 months after is in an assisted care facility. Bedridden. Learning to speak again, slowly and is learning to move hands and arms......Can now feed himself and family uses wheel chair to take him outside....He is slowly making small steps forward. Whether he is able to play again and at his former level is a lofty goal.......We pray he recovers........Thanks for watching..................VBRi
verybigrifle,Yeah,Keeper Told Me What Happened,I Wanted Him To Play One Of My Tunes And He Said That Tom Was In A Horrible Accident,However,Can You Tell Him That He's An Inspiration For My Compositions And That I Wish The Best For Him To Play Ragtime Again
I haven't seen him since i took above video. Family gives updates with him but answer no questions. By Car am about 2 1/2 hrs drive. He let me take the videos but we only saw each other at a show...........Thanks..........VBR
I don't know much about piano, but it feels like this was played absolutely perfectly. Something so crisp about it. Maybe I'm just used to watching Tom sight-read things and make one or two mistakes.
This comment is just perfect. He completely nailed it, and as Anthony said, he plays it sharp and loud. I am completely blown away by this performance. And the tune is sooooo good!
Since he wrote it he is usually playing it differently each time played. Never playing a piece exactly the same twice in a row.....Thanks for watching...VBR
Putting in MIDI form and on TH-cam will be fine if giving Tom Credit for tune etc.......But NOT if you allow advertising on your CHANNEL to make money from click , then NOT when content is not yours ...............Have fun...........VBR
Yes, but what I have heard with him, it will take a miracle and with brain injuries, we never know. He has physical therapy and speech therapy and can speak some words slowly...............VBR
He has spent his first month in a new care facility after 4 years in the assisted living place he was in. Now the "Center For Neural Skills." Report from the family was that he settled in well, and going through extensive training, (almost all his waking hours) to try to get use of basic motor skills. He took his first few steps with a walker while CLOSELY watched by staff for safety. All we can do is hope and pray he gets to a place he can speak/communicate again, walk and get around some on his own. Trying to play piano will have to come after that. We wish him all the best. Thanks for inquiring...VBR
verybigrifle that is so sad. Is he mentally ok?? I pray he gets to play again but it sounds like it will be a long road. He was such a wonderful talent. Thank you so much for responding to me.
@@bevkimrey5779 Thanks for caring. From those that have visited, his mental functions are good and is aware. With the TRAUMATIC Brain injury he suffered, his motor skills are severely restricted. I know Tom only through the venues he performed at, and he let me Video and post them. I spoke to him and sat at the refreshment table with him at these events occasionally. Since not very musically talented as his friends that performed too, I stayed out of the way. From others I know that post occasionally on Facebook, and this latest from Tom's brother who occasionally gives updates on Tom, I get some of the latest news. But I have no personal contact. And yes I miss him too. My site with this video there are probably 100 more videos of Tom playing, over about 10 yrs, if you want to hear MORE? Thanks for the post......VBR
verybigrifle I could always hear more. Do you know how I can get cds I’ve just heard him the last year and fell in love with his music. My heart hurts for him. It’s just so sad. Father God heal this man. I ask in Jesus’ name. Amen
@@bevkimrey5779 Hi! Like you, I fell in love with Tom's music, but that happened last August. Since then I have been listening to him non-stop and fell in love with the ragtime genre as well. You can find a lot of Tom's music in the streaming apps. I don't have spotify, but many of his CDs are available on Google Music and Amazon Music subscriptions (I assume spotiy should have it as well). Search for Tom Brier. "Constellations" and "Blue Sahara" are GREAT CDs. He has composed hundreads of pieces. Unfortunately his family has not been selling his stuff... I would love to get my hands on one of his folios. Regarding his health condition, Jeff (his brother) has been posting on Caring Bridge: caringbridge.org/visit/tombrier Hope this helps. Cheers,
I love everything Tom plays, but this is probably my favorite piece of his I've heard so far. Anyone know if the sheet music is in any of his collections or available anywhere at all?
This was published in his first folio “The Music of Tom Brier, Volume 1” about 2003. This folio is currently out of print but may go back in print again in the future. It was also commercially recorded by Tom on his CD “Skeletons” which I think is also from about 2003.
Thanks for your previous answer VBR but I see you have upgraded to hi-def so I ask again what kind of new camera are you using. The quality seems very good but I did notice the audio sounds a bit tinnier or is the piano?
+Raymond Biller It is a pocket camera s100 canon.......It will do HD........So can't expect all that much for a $300 camera i bought several years after stopped being made but NIB still.............I just attend this event, take out cam, place on mono pod and sit and watch......Thanks for watching.........VBR
This very performance was the first time I was completey wowed by Tom Brier. Seeing it live really shakes up the whole room.
I Love Tom Brier And His Compostions.

@@cameronleesimpson5742 He is an inspiration for so many of us! 😢

Wonderful! ♥️
Knowing Tom, I have to wonder how much he's embellishing on the original piece. :)
Since he wrote it he is usually playing it differently each time played. Never playing a piece exactly the same twice in a row.....Thanks for watching...VBR
Genial
When I saw the title say goldeneye I thought it was a song from the actual movie
Just to to know this piece yesterday. I believe I have listened to it around 5 times or so. So good!
You can see the cameraman feeling the rhythm.
Ah yes, from the hidden Boardwalk level on the N64.
Ok! Five afternoons with this on loop... I think this is enough :-)
Thanks for uploading. Beautiful music and impeccable execution! So crisp!
It's Okay,VBR,I'll Still Listen To His Albums,Besides,I Wanna Check Out Keeper's Pieces That He Made.
Con que limpieza y precisión toca todo. Biiiiiiiiiiiien
Tom Brier's A Role Model For Me,So Why Would I Do Anything Like That.
I'll Put His Name In A Folder.
This is one of the few videos on the internet with no dislikes. Legendary...
Shouldn't have said that, someone disliked :(
@@Souls_p_ That someone noticed their mistake.
Who else thought goldeneye on n64 lol, I knew it wouldn't be that but its what I thought of

It Won't Be Exactly Like His Stuff,But I Can Try
And He Can Play His Stuff Again,Razor Blades,Over The Top,Fumble Fingers,Etc.
Yes, but what I have heard with him, it will take a miracle and with brain injuries, we never know. He has physical therapy and speech therapy and can speak some words slowly...............VBR
hope his treatment is going well

Fantastic one Cam! I don't remember if you have ever recorded it. Go for it!
where can I buy the sheet music?
Oh,No,Besides,I'm Currently Working On Uploading My Songs.
Is there an album version of this available?
Unfortunately not! Still, this is as good as it can get I believe 🙂
One tune of his that I really miss having an album version is Spasmodic 😢
