      Gotta love a good dog getting to play with one of their favorite things! I used to put this kiddie pool on my deck in the warmer months with the intention of my dogs using it to cool off but it basically ended up being seen as a giant water bowl. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ but I've got videos on my phone of my 100lb dog standing with his front paws on the railing and his swapping his weight back and forth on his back paws like an excited little kid as the pool is being sprayed out and cleaned to be refilled! It's freakin' adorable! 😍 but he also LOVES water and the hose is a fave for him too! He'll chase the stream and bite the water the same way as Bailey for as long as you'll let him! 😂😂 I tried setting up one of those back-and-forth lawn-watering sprinklers but after just a couple chases of the streams, he figured out he could just stand over it and bite the constant streams. 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 what can I say: he's a smart guy! 😜😊

    I have the can opener that you squeeze with just one hand. It's ideal for me because I can't use my left hand properly, so a one handed one is perfect. I've been using it for about 3 years now.

    I like the non-cutting can openers because if you don't use all of the food from the can, you can replace the lid you removed as a storage lid. I do it all of the time; especially w/ pet food.

    Emptying long garden hoses is a MAJOR pain in the ass! I would NEVER buy a hose that needs to be completely drained after every use.

    • @lmaoroflcopter
      @lmaoroflcopter 4 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The self expanding ones assist in that regard, they maintain pressure until they are contracted back.
      Turn off the tap, then just hold your spray handle and squeeze, the hose will contract and the water will empty from the hose.
      Then the rest empties out as you roll up the hose.

    Just a note about the egg cracker - and in fact, many "novelty" products that end up As Seen on TV. They are often designed for and used in the disability market before being monetized and marketed to able-bodied folks, and are meant to make things easier for folks with limitations you don't have (yet). Sort of like how lots of folks like weighted blankets, but they have particular use for your daughter.
    "As Seen On" takes the items and either licenses them or makes knock-offs. Flip through any occupational therapy/medical devices catalog and you'll see many of these 'gadgets' that don't make sense to you.

    The egg scrambler, and the egg cracker, are great for people who don't have full use of their hands. Imagine wanting scrambled eggs, but not having the ability to stand there with a fork and whisk them up? Just use a gadget that does it for you, in the shell! And then, use the egg cracker gadget to put it in the pan for you. 90% of all gadgets that seem "unnecessary" are for made people with disabilities, but are marketed to the entire population because it's the only way they can make enough money and get them into the hands of the people who actually need them! Another example: The Snuggie was made for people in wheelchairs, so that's why it has no back.

    I had NO IDEA Ronco went out of business! I tell you what, those infomercials Ron Popeil used to do with the Showtime rotisserie, the dehydrator and the pasta maker...he was so straight forward and honest. Unfortunately James, you are right for the benefit of those who don't know. Ronco went defunct back in 2018 not too long ago, and that to me is just sad. mtiller2006 the first RONCO product I remember was the Veg-o-Matic and the Pocket Fisherman. "Makes the Perfect Gift" was a trademark of Ron Popiel and Co. Malcolm Gladwell wrote a chapter of his book Outliers (it may have been What the Dog Saw) about Ron Popiel. He actually used that spray on hair daily...he had the thinning type of hair that it worked well on. He worked for years on that Rotisserie to get it just right. My friend had one and loved it. The man started on the Boardwalk when he was pretty young and was still a dynamo at the time of the interview.

I sadly never came into possession of one, but I'm very glad to hear you had a friend who loved it. As for the spray-on-hair, I think that was GLH since it was advertised on the dehydrator infomercial that's here on TH-cam somewhere. I tell you what, Ron definitely had an eye for things. I think I had heard he sold Ronco some years back, it's a shame it had to close up shop.

    To be fair to the “steel toe” shoes, most good steel toed shoes are designed so that the metal “bends” and severs your digits, rather than crushing them completely. Gross to think about, but its better to have a few toes reattatched than to have them crushed completely.
    Regardless, I admit that crushing them like you did wouldn’t really save anyones foot, and I dont think they look very strong.
    Props to you for a thorough test! Better to destroy a product than have something heavy destroy your toes

    Re the laundry lint traps: I bought 3 of these several years ago. I agree, they do not work when used as directed. I have a very old washing machine that I bought used. The filter system on it malfunctions and more than a few of my nice knit blouses were ruined. I began using these opened filters and scoop the top 2 to 3 inches of water throughout the whole wash and rinse cycles. I pull out at least 1/4 cup of lint. I do not have a dryer and am without that option. For my purposes these lint traps are a blessing for me and my clothes are coming out in wearable condition.

    Honestly, how many of you actually clean the top of your canned food before opening it? For those of you that don'y clean them, and you use the regular openers (4:25 4:49 that let the cut lid fall inside the can), you might now have contaminated food. That is why the side cutting smooth openers are much better... they don't allow the cut lid to fall inside the can. 5:08

      I definitely do.
      I peel off the label and wash the can with hot soapy water and then rinse it.
      I'm kind of a germaphobe.
      I also put a magnet (that I have made sure is clean) on top of the can and don't crank the opener all the way to the end, but I leave a little bit of the top connected to the rest of the can so I can lift it up and pour the contents of the can out.
      That way I don't have to try to dig the top out of the can.

    You should wet your ice cream scoop. I have one scoop (spoon type) for a bowl of ice cream and one (ball type) for ice cream cones and while both work dry both work far better when wet.

    You should have worn a pair of shoes for a year. The outdoor test would probably have worked if you lived somewhere that gets a bit of all the seasons like snow and more rain. Also, you could have placed a pair of cheap regular shoes with them just to see how good they held up outdoor for a year, even though due to the climate your in would probably still have the same results.

    • @ThatSoddingGamer

      He'd have needed to get two pairs of each though, considering the destructive tests he did in the original review.

    Holy crap! At 14:42 I saw sparks coming off the weight (I'm guessing that's what was dropped on the shoe?) when it started to hit the floor! Idk if it was just static electricity the plastic coating or the shoe's materials, either the fabric/nylon or the metal innards, but it was definitely unexpected!

    The metal hoses are awesome. As far as the expanding hoses go, if I have to baby a hose that much... I'd rather have a cheap ol' rubber hose. Those last forever also. IF you keep em inside and drain em after every use.

    With can openers or ice cream scoops that automatically empty, I hate that plastic gears or plastic twist knobs are used. They’re not built to last, and I’ve had both break. As far as regular ice cream scoops, you just have to beware of thin metal that might cause the scoop to bend.

    Protipp: scrambled eggs get much better if you crack them into the hot pan with a bit of butter and wait for a second for it to start to solidify for a moment and then scramble it with a fork in the pan. Less things made dirty, less devices used, better-scrambled egg.

    I would have to say this, the can openers could be used on top of the can which is the right way to use them, I was doing it the way you use them on this video and I thought they were not good, and if you use them the right way even the dollar store can openers work just fine
    Tha same with the ice cream scoopers, pour some water on a cup, or leave the faucet open while scooping ice-cream and voila! Nothing will stick to the scoop! And of course there's better scoop than others but I would not pay over 10 bucks for an ice cream scoop, that's just my opinion. By the way my wife and I love your videos! Cheers mate!

    The lint catchers DO work. But they're made more for manual washers - not our western automatic ones. If you ever review a manual washing machie - try them in it.

    • @BewareTheLilyOfTheValley
      @BewareTheLilyOfTheValley 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      That should be stated in the advertising then as otherwise it's misleading and your product is going to get a lot of negative reviews. Don't advertise something as being good for all washers when it's not.

    • @jeandiatasmith4512
      @jeandiatasmith4512 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BewareTheLilyOfTheValley Some do say it. Just randomly picked one on Amazon:
      "The netting is large enough to contain and catch substantial amount of furry pet’s hair such as dogs, cats etc. It’s a great addition to smaller or mini portable washing machines ‘s limited hair filter bag."
      Also, read the comments. Lots of mentions on how good they are in manual washers.
