As I remember in old times Orks was bigger and smarter, but after old one was defeated they adapt to situations and their numbers grows rapidly be century while necrons was sleeping
War in Heaven kicks off. Eldar and Old Ones are struggling bad. Old Ones make crazy warrior race- Krorks. Krorks seem to be able to hold their own. Eldar leave War to Krorks to recover. War goes on. Randomly in the war a massive Enslaver swarm comes into the galaxy. These things basically end the war by killing the absolute crap out of the Krorks. Enslavers are basically space jelly fish that feed on living things using warp energy, and Krorks acted as a giant beacon for them. They got mostly taken out. Necrons and C'tan chased away Old Ones. Necrons then waged war on C'tan destroying them, but severely weakening themselves. Realized if Eldar came after them in full force now that they would probably be wiped out. They went to sleep. Eldar looked around at mostly empty galaxy. Declared the winner of The War in Heaven even though all they did was run away. Chilled out while Krorks basically turned into smaller dumber Orks and let them infest the galaxy.

I have a fan made ork character named cap'n squig beard who uses a ork looted necron he refers to as the navigator. He uses it to discover the locations of necron tomb worlds that he can loot for necron tech for his big meks to tinker with.
The Awakening of the necrons would be a great excuse for Games Workshop to introduce in orc sub faction that is much more like the ancient more powerful version
And by that The Korks are BACK BABY!!!!! also I like to believe that the Korks of old has all the best attributes of all the klans which means hey are the best at close quarter combat like "The Goffs", the beast scavengers like the "Death Skulls", the best resource management like "the Bad Moons" best pilot and mechanics like "The Evil Suns", has a strong psychics like "The Snake Bites", and the best tacticians like "the Blood Axes"
Question: Does primaris also have scouts that has to go throu some time as a scout before they become fully fledged space marines just like first borne marines. And if they do will we see Primaris scouts because right now normal scouts suck and i want to deploy some scouts. Keep up the good work i have been a fan for almost 2 years now.

It makes sense that the orks devolving was an intentional feature, so they would be able to be controlled once the Necrons had been eliminated. Whether it worked as intended or not is another question.
I think either Necrons or tyranids are maybe design to be the perfect counter vs each other (i think i read somewhere that tyranids where design to counter necrons by ''saving'' the DNA of nearby planets) But necrons vs tyranids battle well biggest advantage of Tyranids is number and being quick to regenerate their loses but Necrons kinda counter that by not being Bio
