    Beautiful demos after an exquisite explanation. Thank you for doing this. 😮

    Best description of these 100 series modules I've seen. Thanks dude.

    What a great video. I have a lot of stuff in my rack and I have to say I am very impressed with these 100 series modules. Hard to beat for the price. The build quality is excellent. I am really shocked at how good the VCO sounds in this video. It is so clean.

      Absolutely, Behringer really did a good job here. And of course, the original System 100 is just awesome.

    Great review. Quick nitpick on the LFO output levels: the sine and triangle are approx. -5V to +5V (centred on 0) with the second output giving the opposite phase, but the pulse and both sawtooths are 0V to 10V - with the other output giving 0v to -10V. I guess this is typical of LFOs but it caught me out at first (particularly the sawtooth).
    This and the 121 VCF, I think, are the Sys100 modules that stand out as worth considering even if you're not trying to build a complete "vintage replica" but just need more basic envelopes, LFOs and lowpass filters in your rack.

      You're right, the output levels for square and the ramps are 0 - 10V, I missed that! And true, I've seen this on other LFOs, too. The Arp 1004 oscillator also has these different output ranges.

    Very detailed, informative but also entertaining video! Good work :D I also have the 140 and i love the "analogness" of those envelopes and that they have 3 outputs

    Master class!!!!!
    Is it possible to synchronize the tempo of the sequencer (Behringer 182) with the frequency of the LFO (Behringer 140), or vice versa?

    Thanks man, I own some of the systems 100 as well.

    Great review and demo. Thanks. I think I’ll take it a my first ADSR (Eurorack extension for B2600). I can’t find better alternative in that price range. 1033 has only one Gate and no LFO. Dreadbox Ataxia looks interesting but switching between modes and need to pay attention to which one is currently active is counterproductive.
    Three things which I would like to see done better in this module:
    - Wider range of short AD fader range - like you said, it’s harder to finetune snappy decays especially for faster tempo bassline (at least I can always use Env from 2600 which has range selector)
    - Wider range of LFO: instead of 3 ranges I’d prefer to see either wider range with longer fader or at least only Lo/Hi ranges. Going from a slow LFO to audio rate is impossible here
    - Grey colour! It’s the saddest colour ever! 😉 Thanks for showing that it looks fine in the dark. At least at night it will not bother me.
    I’m positively surprised about highest LFO speed. 155Hz? Manual says top 30Hz. Either you got module that is out of specs or Behringer can’t even make accurate product specifications (my bet is on the latter of course). Trigger explanation in the manual also confused me.

      You could also look into the Doepfer A140-2, which is also a dual envelope, but only 8hp, and has a wide range.

    • @DarkLightYT
      @DarkLightYT 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@synthesizer83 I already got 140 and I don't regret getting it. A140-2 was my second option. Faders won over knobs (my preference for ADSR) :)

    Can you post a video of the Behringer 150 being used? I cannot find a video of one across the internet. I'm looking to purchase modules soon and would like to see it in action before purchase.

      Sure, this one is still missing. Had it scripted some time ago, but lost track with some other stuff. Will be one of my next reviews!

    Ok what exactly does the trigger input? "Connect a trigger to turn the LFO off until the end of the trigger cycle."? And so when and how start the trigger cycle?

    • @rmanpojo8485
      @rmanpojo8485 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The trigger inputs has only effect on the delay.

    • @synthesizer83
      @synthesizer83  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Mhm, that would explain the strange behavior. But when delay is zero, still something happens. Weird LFO.

    • @hoagy_ytfc
      @hoagy_ytfc ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@synthesizer83 I'm trying to work it out - I think it resets to the start of the delay period - but the delay period can be zero in which case it starts oscillating again immediately.
      Kinda makes sense in a way, I think.

  • @giovannitorricelli4214

    One question tho, i saw that the trigger on the lfo doesn't allow the phase to restart correctly; so if i would like to use it as "envelope for a sidechain" it would not sounds in time but kind of restarting random ?

    • @synthesizer83
      @synthesizer83  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah, you will at least not reliably get an AR like behaviour out of it. Perhaps with some tuning, actually never tried it in this this context, because there are two envelopes right above it.

    what size are these modules?

    • @synthesizer83
      @synthesizer83  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      most of them have 16HP

    • @simonburns1055
      @simonburns1055 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i dont know this measurement, so about 20cm height? @@synthesizer83

    • @synthesizer83
      @synthesizer83  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The height is 3 rack units, so 128,5 mm, the width depends on the module. One horizontal pitch (HP) is 5,08 mm, so these Behringer modules are roughly 8 cm wide.

  • @simonburns1055

    what are those 10 series like ?

    • @synthesizer83
      @synthesizer83  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The concept of the 100 series is great (dual modules). The Behringer recreation of it is good, the build quality is medium, but considered the price, that's fair. Have it for 3 years now and never had any problems.

    Modular synthesizers looks more spectacular than it sounds. I can do just the same with a regular synth.

    • @synthesizer83

      Often Yes, and for a cheaper price. It becomes different when you step out of the beaten track, and combine modules in crazy ways. I rarely do because it sounds weird when I try, but Modular is very flexible.
