lovely dancing, enchanting acting….the little touches like pausing to sniff the roses in the middle of her adagio! she captured the youthful vivacity of aurora
Aside from the spectacular dancing, this clip captures the true majesty of the music. In this short composition, Tchaikovsky created the perfect, jewel-like setting for showing off the beauty and strength of women.
Диана, как всегда, великолепна, но сразу не узнала её из-за цвета волос и цвет костюма не очень ( цвет детской неожиданности). Я привыкла к другим цветам платья Авроры в этой роли
This is the only Rosa Adagio I've ever seen without a tutu that is in some measure pink (although I understand the concept of palette and can see the way the color works in). I was trying to decide if they tinted the roses as a goldy-orange rather than pink and am not sure.
Max 2011 Racism is very rampant in the ballet world and especially in Russia. This video seems to be older and Russian. It is still common for Russian companies to use black face on their dancers as they don’t hire black people. It’s a terrible stain on the art itself.
There's a very interesting discussion about this on a fairly recent full Pharaoh's Daughter with Zakharova and Skvortsov due to the body make-up used for the Nubian handmaiden character. I'm surprised no one has ever started a conversation about the kids in blackface they use in Bayadere during the Bronze Idol/Little Golden God variation. I'm kind of torn on these because yes, racist but also yes, period (meaning it's being done in the style of the period in which the ballet was created). Maybe if we had a little more racial diversity in the dance world people would become more sensitive to this issue. I've never felt it added anything, and the way they make up the kids in Bayadere so the area around their eyes remains white (or beige) ;looks stupid.
@@minissa2009 Thank you for your insightful comments. I feel the same way as you . . . uncomfortable seeing a dancer made up with black-face, but appreciative of the authenticity. The only addition I wanted to make was to say that yes, in fact there has been controversy and discussion about the scene in La Bayadere. Take care all, stay safe. 😊
Another ugly tutu, Not sure of the colour, orange, peach or gold. She does have lovely proportions, not so leggy as some. Balances not bad, at least the Prince is not right behind the one in front! Why does she stick up her index finger on the raised hand in the balnces? Looks awful.
she really danced to the glory and triumph in the music. Wonderful.
She's the best!Great charism,splendid technique,always lovely,always smiling,always gracious,always beautiful in any role she dances.A real angel!

Pretty tutu but ugly colour-too much like a pumpkin.

Is the "African Prince" blackfaced and bodypaintedt? Seems so. No black dancer available in the world?

Surprised that diana has such poor balance compared to many other Auroras. Shows just how difficult it is. Only Cynthia Gregory can do it all the way
It's a lady's dance, not a princess at all.
Так себе. Баланс, вернее его отсутствие, все испортил
