most of those are the worse sadly. wiiu/mk8 rainbow road is not even a rainbow, snes version is bad, n64 was bad originally. why not gamecube and ds versions? also i loved gba version, could jump on every corner and you see paper mario castle
To think that we have 5 Rainbow Roads in this game. From the first Rainbow Road from the SNES era, to the beautiful one from the Nintendo 64 that overlooks the city below, to this amazing Wii version here that takes us up into space!, then the 3DS one where we go across the moon and a bunch of planets, and finally the Mario Kart 8 one where were near MK8 TV Station's satellite. Truly this is just amazing. Sure it's to bad we couldn't get the other 3 as well. But oh well.
@@sandrabojorquez1772actually it is, the original version of mario kart 8 is in the wii u but the deluxe version is in the switch adding the four last cups and the dlc tracks

Tbh, I really like Wii U Rainbow Road. Turning it into a space station was a really cool idea and makes me wonder what they are going to do with the next game’s Rainbow Road. However, it doesn’t beat 3DS Rainbow Road, it was a magical experience on the 3DS and still is on the Switch!

I’ve grew up with SNES Rainbow Road for years, but the other rainbow roads are good too I mainly just like the snes version because of the cool star thwomps I wished Nintendo used them in other rainbow road tracks.
I haven't played since the original mk8, and it's such a great feeling to see the wii and 3ds tracks are back, maybe I will buy a switch one day to enjoy those epic moments once again, even if it's not the technically original tracks (tho i still keep my wii with mk-wii)
We need one more DLC pack, giving us the GBA, CGN and DS rainbows roads, along with one more new Rainbow road, one that has you do a single lap but you have to do all 8 rainbows roads, each one melting into the next. So you start on SNES, it melts into N64, GBA, GCN, DS, Wii, 3DS and ending with MK8
I agree. For me it hits all of my checkpoints on a good rainbow road: 1) Does the music sound ethereal enough to really feel like the last track in the main "story"? 2) Is the track difficult without being cheaty? 3) and Does it clearly take place in the sky/space. Of all of the Rainbow Road tracks, 3DS gets 10/10 on all. The Snes, GBA, N64, and DS versions aren't difficult. The N64 does have the music part. The GCN version is difficult, and takes place in the sky, but the music doesn't hit as hard. There's arcade one's that I don't know much about. And the WiiU version has all three, but the music is about 7/10 for me.
It was better on the 3ds than it was here, but it was still a very good track. My favorite was Wii because the track itself was extremely fun to race on with all the ramps and the music was a good send off.
Idea: Retro Rainbow Cup Race 1: SNES Rainbow Road Race 2: N64 Rainbow Road Race 3: Wii Rainbow Road Final Race: 3DS Rainbow Road (They all go in order of OG release dates.)
I hate that they made MKWII rainbow road noob friendly lol. People falling off the map were some of the best memories i had as a kid playing against friends.

4 Rainbow Road tracks as a cup
Another 4 Rainbow Road tracks as a cup too

Of all of the Rainbow Road tracks, 3DS gets 10/10 on all.

There's arcade one's that I don't know much about.
And the WiiU version has all three, but the music is about 7/10 for me.
Musically, yes, (mainly because of my bias coming from the Juno Songs version), but the best one for gameplay is 64 (8/DX variant)
I don't like how they butchered the theme and made it all party like rather then ethereal in the expansion pack.
It was better on the 3ds than it was here, but it was still a very good track.
My favorite was Wii because the track itself was extremely fun to race on with all the ramps and the music was a good send off.
Feels weird that DS wasn't here when it would've suited antigrav best, but the selection we got was excellent
My ranking for the Rainbow Roads:
