    Wonderful video.

    the 80's was really the last hurrah for majority of railroads in the country before the big 6... its a damn shame we allow a monopoly system

    I remember the scenes taken on the North Side of La Crosse near Avon Street like it was yesterday.

      There's welded rail still laying in the weeds out in the Avery Idaho area next to the bike trail .

    This is the 1980's, and there is No more Electrification. It's sad that the Milwaukee Road was abandoned, it could have totally been able to achieve the 100% Zero Emissions by 2047 deadline. But no, it's management was stupid, and they decided to end Electrification at the worst possible time.

    Brian, you have several great videos you have posted. But this particular one caught my eye! My name is Mark and I own and just finished restoring that particular car #8035 shown at 3:17. It is Fairmont MT14 made for the Milwaukee Road in 1970. The picture shown is more then likely taken at the Tomah shops when the shops enclosed cab and installed the sides, doors and a heater in it for the cold wisconsin weather and repainted it. Is it all possible I can get a copy of the slide / picture of it?

    • @bjkrotzman8767
      @bjkrotzman8767  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes. The line ran from near Sparta to Viroqua and also operated a branch to Coon Valley after the La Crosse and Southeastern went under in the 1930's.

      The NON UNION Roads don't matter as much. They were born from the blood of hard working union workers. So no love lost . Especially the I&M Rail link Montana Rail link .
