This video cracked me up. My first date with my hubby was admiring a giant puff ball in one of the paddocks. I seem to remember trying to eat one, but it wasn’t nearly as successful as yours. I can’t wait to show this video to him. Thank you.
Head chef here, first add a bit of oil in pan b4 the butter so you don't burn the butter next don't use a spoon to put your seasonings in you should be using your fingers so that you get an even consistency through your mix it doesn't clump that way and nice job on your first time cooking them
@@CheaperWaysNZ that's all good thank you as your video help me show the puffball mushrooms actually being cooked a mate of mine believed it to be poisonous
Awesome! Gives me confidence to try my find today. Mines abit more yellow but still cool mushrooms and hopefully it goes well with watercress in your recipe 😅
thank you for this recipe idea. This year I got 2 giant bovites and tried different things. For me, the mushroom has hardly any taste of its own, breaded like schnitzel is not particularly good for me. I think it's best with scrambled eggs or vegetable soup. Greetings from Germany.

Ahh ok I had heard of putting oil in first but never knew why! Good to know about the spices too - thanks for the tips!

Yay hope it goes well!!
I absolutely LOVE mushrooms. Is this similar to a Truffle?
I've never actually had truffle before ... but taste-wise it just tasted exactly like a field mushroom 🙂
Nice video! Thank you!
Thank you too! 😀
He said, picked it up on the side of the road! He ain't wrong! Haha 😆
lol - hey it not like it wasn't washed 😂
I’ve heard if you cut them into sticks and bread them with Parmesan cheese they are great! Just dehydrate them for future use.
Oh yeah that sounds good!!
Cut into slices, oil and season, and throw on the grill ☺️fantastic mushroom steaks.
Oh yeah so yummy!!
I had no notification from YT for this video....
Naughty youtube!

Yeah I found it tasted like mushroom but much more subtle, so definitely needed a sauce or something with it - vege soup sounds like a good idea!
You are the luckiest chef to find the whitest puffball ever!😃
haha - yeah it was a good one!! I've recently found they often spawn in the same place so I keep my eyes peeled now 😀
I'm not sure how you could confuse a giant puffball with a death cap. I suppose anything is possible.
I thought I'd better mention that as apparently a lot of people do - go figure 🙂
I’ve heard it taste nasty reason being that it’s not often cultivated
All the ones I've had have tasted exactly like mushrooms ... maybe it depends on the area they're grown in? 🙂
