I remember Si-Finds discussing in a video that he spoke with some friends in the Indian community about the offerings and how the magic happens when the offering is tossed into the Thames so it is perfectly fine to handle and remove them. From a witchy poo standpoint I feel that once you release something and walk away, it's out of your hands and the offering will end up wherever it was meant to go. Your friend Emma is so cute and sweet. What a great pal!

Nic, please take the non-compostable findings. In a recant study micro plastics (broken down tiny bits of degraded plastic) outnumbered larval fish 7:1, and those larval fish all had micro plastics in the digestive tracts and gills. That, my dear, is a preventable tragedy, please remove the plastics and make more great art like the cormorant.

Also i don't know why people don't go to a temple to do that instead of leaving them at river. How about leaving something that's organic and can brake down faster, like statue made of wood or paper picture.

At 7:59 to 8:47 when you pick up the bottle with the metal stopper, right next to it is a stone with a white circle within it. The white circle is quartz crystal. These stones with rings of quartz in them are called "Wishing Stones". There are some certain people who would pay a pretty penny for such stones, especially if it's tidied up and smoothed into a nice shape.

What a fun video and great to meet Emma! For a bit there I thought the Pipe Queen of the Thames was going to have a pipe less lark but WOW, what great pipes. Before the pipes you found the piece of pottery that had a person cooking something. Just above the cooking pot there is a hand coming down and if it isn't a utensil for eating it looks like a pipe. So perhaps you found three pipes? Great music, great video and beautiful art. An iron gold plated ring. Perhaps not hard to toss it in the Thames as opposed to gold. It may be hard to beat that gold and diamond ring you found but you never know. So Kind Thanks Nicola and now my Sunday is complete. I think my week would go wacky if I didn't have a larking video to complete the first day of the week. Now I'm off to a good start and stronger listing on me bucket list, to go mud larking on the Thames one day! Might find an ancestors item, one never knows, which is the fun in the mystery of it all. Thanks to all in your video and Thanks Emma for treating our mud larking Pipe Queen! DaveyJO in Pa.

It's too bad that the offerings are made with synthetic stuff. If they were made out of unpainted, unfired clay and a bit of sand, they would just disappear.
I would feel okay about picking them up, as the importance for the person making the offering is in the act itself.
There is something there about the intention of the person doing the picking up... there's a difference between hating on the offerings and throwing them out to be spiteful (but not being as concerned about all the rest of the stuff that people throw in the river) and picking them up because you pick up all sorts of plastic items.
