Tried to do the cylinder shot on a chapman dolly a few days ago for a music video. The dolly broke (old worn out bolt had too much downward pressure on it) so we just put the camera on a tripod and let the camera tip over safely. We measured the height from the ground to bottom of camera (and distance from lens to subject) so we could repeat the exact same move with the exact same angle of arc for a shot later in the day.

The last shot with the split screen that eventually comes together was inspired by a very similar shot in the film The Rules Of Attraction from 2002.
