  • 🇪🇺 With the release today of Mario Draghi’s report “The Future of European Competitiveness,” the European Commission takes its first step to tackle one of the key priorities of the new Ursula von der Leyen mandate.
🗣️ Our Director, Fredrik Erixon, provides some initial thoughts on the report:
"There are lots of good insights, lots of good recommendations that come in there. The first thing that occurred to me when I was reading it is to reflect a bit on the core points that he's making and why we haven't had a political process in the EU which have been recognising them to the extent necessary over the past perhaps even ten years. Draghi makes it abundantly clear that Europe has been falling behind in any type of measure that we want to choose when we compare to other OECD economies of size like for instance the United States."

Sweden is spending around 3.5% of GDP on R&D. As a small investor I can guarantee that there are very many opportunities and forms to invest so there is no major problem with financial regulations here. If there are problems in other EU countries it is up to them to improve. There are surely unecessary EU regulation like demands on sustainability reports, etc. The EU bureaucracy is producing incredible garbage as the taxonomy documents.
To sum up. There is no need of common European debt financing for R&D. The EU should also close down immediately the stupid proxy war with Russia.

"The EU should also close down immediately the stupid proxy war with Russia."
Putting an end to this proxy war is not in the interest of the US, and more specifically its militairy industrial complex. We have seen what counter meassures are taken when we cross the NATO hegemon.

It is right, but at some point the vassal leaders we have must come to their senses or they will be replaced by the voters hopefully. I am not optimistic 😢

It is easy to say that we are in big need of AI colage, for instant we can look on what is meta doing with there ai, and there is big money alredy invested. Does countrie who will have people to deal with it will be driving inovation and long turn investments in assets, because new factories will be made or moved in.
Big companys wich are big for a reson will be benefiting with that, so don't let people move that easy from countrie.

For AI to succeed, you need energy - LOTS of it, and its in pretty short supply right now in EU. Time they rolled up theirs sleeves instead of thinking its going to be the other guys' problem..
